We've been going here a few times per summer for many years. The ice cream is good, with soft and hard serve options now, but a bit pricey. Located walking distance of the UMF campus, It is quite popular with the high school and college...crowd, as well as families with children. Very small kids get a free baby cone. It's also nice that they will make a sundae for your dog. The only reason I give fewer stars is the location. This is between two very busy roads with lots of the traffic Farmington is known for. There are a couple of picnic tables, against the side of the building, but there is nowhere else except inside your car to eat. (No bathroom, etc) It's a nice treat for a snack, and some people do take their ice cream across the street to eat in the park on nice days. Just be very careful crossing!More

Giffords makes the best ice cream and has the most fantastic variety of flavors! And it is really local-made in our neighboring town of Skowhegan, and all family run.

You cannot travel to Maine without a stop at Gifford's. Offering a multitude of locally inspired flavors, my personal favorites are Moose Tracks and Peanut Butter Pie! Gifford's of Maine is a must stop!

The best ice cream I have ever had. It doesn’t matter what you get, it’s good. So many flavors to choose from, along with sundaes, frappes, and weekly specials like strawberry shortcake.

Really good ice cream but $4.50 for 2 scoops? Come on... if a family of 5 stopped it would clean out the wallet.

We have been going to Farmington for years. Can't go without stopping at Gifford's. Sometimes there is a line, but it is worth the wait. Great flavors too.
