Great atmosphere and service! The food is usually great as well but has been a bit of a let down the last three visits, it's missing seasonings, salt and love.

This restaurant is literally in an old diner. But the food is very new and interesting. The offerings are unique and are styled from cultures around the world. Don't worry, they have old stand by's too.

We had never eaten here before and wanted to try some place new, so went there for lunch today. It's nice that it's and old railway car, but very small for dining. There are only 6 small tables and about 14 small round seats at the counter that a very uncomfortable. They offer can beverages for $1.99 each! 8 oz... More

Really great hip new take on diner food ! Mike & his partner Neil have transformed the place with great new food choices while retaining the ambiance which still attracts its loyal older guests. Nicely done !! Chom Chom !

My husband and I had just come from the VA Hospital in Togus. He was famished because he had fasted for a day and a half for a colonoscopy. We had heard that the diner had a good breakfast menu, so he had been thinking of it all morning. When we walked in at 10:55, we were told that they... More

A-1 can't seat too many people at a time but the food is fresh and delicious. Although some of their food isn't typical diner food they have good options.

The specials are well worth a look and provide some very eclectic choices that would fit well in a larger Portland or Boston restaurant. The other menu choices are very well done, good coffee and above average portions. You may need to sit at the counter as there are not many booths but it's well worth the visit.

I had heard that this diner had been on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. I love the show. I did not see anything on the menu or come out of the kitchen that was outstanding. The food was good, just not anything special. I had a Reuben sandwich on marble rye with chips and a pickle. My friend had a bacon... More

What a gem, this restored diner has been in place since 1946 (70 years). Fresh warm home-made rolls from the steamer drawer, a little window with a bell that announces your food is ready, awesome details! I went for the comfort food (pea soup with ham and a meatloaf sandwich). But, there's plenty of new and modern things to try... More
