We visited for dinner on Saturday night. Be prepared to spend $$$. My meal was a "bowl" of the Minestrone Soup. It was the smallest "bowl" I have ever seen. The soup was delicious! My husband had spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs were order...3.00 each. Again, the smallest 19.00 dish of spaghetti you had ever seen and a separate dish of one lonely meat ball.More

Great restaurant with very friendly waitstaff. Food was pricey but expected for it's location and cost of living adjustments. We were greeted cordially and service was attentive. Food was fresh and served hot. Most had early bird specials and size and quality was great. Only...disappointed was the desert which didn't match the quality of everything else served. Overall A great dining experienceMore

we have been coming to roberto's for years and it's always good food. Telishia was our waitress and was very friendly and always had a smile on her face. Food was very good this time around too!

Pros: Despite us not having a reservation on a Saturday night, we were ushered in to a pretty, nicely lit dining room right away. Love the outside gardens and sweet wrap around porch. Complimentary Bread is served with a really yummy garlic/oil dipping sauce. Portions...are large! My husbands Osso Bucco over risotto was generous and delish. Homemade Lobster ravioli was smaller, but server (TALESIA who was sooo awesome and friendly!) told me before ordering that it was a petite portion. Blueberry pie very good too! Prices on par with Ogunquit dinners. Could use improvement: Ice cream sundae dessert - ice cream wasn’t great (icy and grainy throughout) told our server and she removed from bill no problem! Only my opinion, but for the price and look of this restaurant- the hostess should be dressed nicer. She was in leggings and a tee shirt, and although pleasant- attire not appropriate for front of house. Would have liked to sit outside but understand the staffing issues. All in all a yummy place that we enjoyed!More

Gererally good. My husbands swordfish was great. I was disappointed in the scallops which were described as finished with light breadcrumbs. They were in a very creamy sauce with lots of breadcrumbs. Will try this place again since we had very good meals there in...previous visits.More

We've been going to Ogunquit for almost 40 years now and Roberto's has always been a place on our list to make sure we eat at. This visit was very different. My wife made a reservation for 7pm for us and our 2 children. When...we got there the hostess was beyond rude. We asked to be sat outside in the garden and she said ok then she saw the 2 kids and said we aren't sitting anyone outside tonight and put us in a dingy back room away from other diners. She seemed liked she was very entitled and we should be so lucky to eat here. Next, it took about 30 minutes to even get a waitress to come to our table. We ordered a bottle of wine and dinner for the kids right away. The waitress disappeared for another 30 minutes and came back with the bottle of wine and asked if we were ready to order. After an hour and a half the food finally showed up. Everybody was starving. My wife's lobster ravioli was still frozen and we had to send it back. So overall the staff is rude and pretty much non-existent, the food is frozen and to top it off when we were leaving I looked outside and they had people sitting in the garden and being served so I was lied to by the hostess. Not really sure what her problem is but she shouldn't be in the front of the house let alone in the restaurant business. Last thing I want to say is that although it's hard to find a bad place to eat in Ogunquit, Roberto's now manages to top my list of places I will never visit again. We went to Bandito's right after and had a great experience as they know how to treat their guests. It's a shame too because this used to be one of our favorites.More

We have eaten at Roberto's Restaurant each time we stayed in Ogunquit. This time it was okay. My husband enjoyed his fish dish, which was fresh and a generous portion. My parmesan was just okay. Service was average as well. I personally feel that it...is overpriced for what one gets.More

Used to be our favorite place. This year the experience was average. Have been going there for over 30 years. Enjoyed excellent Italian food in a relaxed atmosphere. Food quality now average, and more seating has been crammed into the same dining space.

My husband and I dined there last weekend, Roberto's has been one of our favorites for many years and we try to sit at the bar as we are "bar people". I made a reservation and requested the bar or bar area and luckily we...were seated there. I wish we had gotten a table in the dining room. The food was very good, no complaints there but the service was just awful and the owner sat in the bar the entire time drinking with the locals! Bartender was very unfriendly, never cracked a smile, nothing. Never asked us how everything was and when we requested something (like another cocktail) he had his 2nd in command get it so we had to wait for that guy. Owner never asked "how was everything"? or thanked us for coming in...nothing. I will say that the food was very good as usual but it did not make up for the service at all. Very disappointing, next trip we'll be going to another local Italian restaurant that came highly recommended by a local gentleman who sat at the bar next to us.More

We have been going to Ogunquit for over fifteen years and usually eat at Roberto’s. We reserved for 5:30pm June 1st and arrived ten minutes early. The restaurant had only four customers when we arrived. The greeter at the front desk was busy chatting with...two wait staff. We waited a minute or so before telling her our name and reservation number. They didn’t look happy that we interrupted their conversation. She looked us up on the computer and guided us to our seat. We usually like to sit on the side upstairs and asked if it was possible. No answer. My husband told her it was fine and the table we had was distantly placed from other tables. Our server came with the menus and we had to ask for a wine list. She had someone in training with her who stood there with her mouth open each time she came to our table. We ordered a bottle of Tuscany wine which was room temperature. I asked her if there was any similar Italian wine which was cooler. She said she didn’t know and would have to see if she could ask the manager but she just stood there. We asked her if instead she could bring us some ice to cool the wine down. She didn’t answer and left. The trainee came back ten minutes later with a glass full of ice. We ordered a Caesar salad which was okay. I had the veal parmigiana which came with pasta. I asked her if I could have either vegetables or potatoes with the veal instead of the pasta. She looked at me as if I was from another planet. She finally said I could have fingerling potatoes but there would be a charge. I was fine with that. My husband had lasagna which was lukewarm with mostly pasta & cheese with barely any sauce. He said it was the worst lasagna that he had ever eaten. We had to ask for more water because our server never came to refill our glasses. Also the server never came to pour our wine. The blueberry pie was good as was the rainbow sherbet for dessert. The server never came around to see if we wanted more coffee. We mentioned to our server that the food wasn’t as good as it was the last time that we at Roberto’s in 2019. She mentioned the chef of ten years quit and they had a new chef for the past year or so. All in all the customer server was terrible from the time we arrived until we left. The food was lukewarm and bland. It was a very disappointing evening for us. When you have a business you should strive for excellent customer service. I guess we know now why Roberto’s is for sale!More

Horrible. Abominable. That pizza place is the worst excuse for a restaurant in Ogunquit. Folks, it was 2 beers, a salad, and a pizza we ordered. That's all, and that's after the wait person came out of a comatose state to take our order. One...beer was successfully poured, then, as I waited, said waitperson tried at least 3 times to pour a 2nd on-tap beer but was getting as much foam as beer each time. Ok, I asked for an alternate draft beer. Same problem. When 3/4 of the glass FINALLY was beer rather than foam, I threw in the towel and said I'd take it. Salad was delivered--what there was of it. Roasted red pepper? Yup, one 2-inch strip. After at least a half hour of waiting for the pizza (and the finished product we saw at another table looked woefully underdone-- this at the table of a large party whose bill was $113 and change) AND watching staff members being fed slices of pizza & eating them in full view behind the counter as they yucked it up while we sat there waiting for ours, we'd had enough--walked over to the pizza-eating waitperson and asked for our check (for the poorly drawn beers and the paltry salad only) and left despite being told our pizza was "almost ready" at which point we told the gaggle of pizza-enjoying employees pretty much what we thought of the place. And, no, they weren't overwhelmed by customers when we arrived, they were just poorly trained, uninterested, lackadaisical, and, frankly, incompetent. We've been going to Ogunquit for more than 50 (yes, 50) years and this was by far the worst "dining" (and I use the term loosely) experience by far. This is not a serious business; management should be ashamed.More

My wife and I went to Roberto's (7/22) for the "special". We both ordered lasagna. It was the worst I have ever ordered. Almost no meat, very little sauce and the noodles were tough. We've had their lasagna in years past and really enjoyed it....NOT this time. The one saving grace was that the salad and the key lime pie were very good.More

There are two sides to this restaurant. One is pizza and the other is a nice Italian restaurant. Not realizing this, we were first seated in the nicer part. The waitress took us through the kitchen to the other side (loved that part!) and we...sat at a table outside. They were short staffed so it took a while for someone to take our order. The pizza was fabulous. Worth the wait. They have valet parking. An added plus in Ogunquit.More

My husband and I made reservations for a Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. we arrived early and sat at the bar . We noticed a woman who we thought was a hostess touching her hair and face then putting her bare hands into a chip...bucket to hand them to customers. Needless to say we didn't try the chips. We sat down at our table at 7 and our waitress promptly took a drink order. When I asked her what Prosecco they carried she didn't know as it was only her second day but came right back. She was clearly trying. We ordered drinks and garlic bread immediately and when the garlic bread came about 5 minutes later it looked and smelled delicious. Quite possibly the best garlic bread I've ever had. We ordered two specials, rack of lamb and short ribs over risotto. Almost 45 minutes later we asked our waitress when our food was coming. The ladies sitting behind us asked the same. The waitress told us it was taking longer than usual because of all the large parties. When we looked around the restaurant it was about half full and one party of 6 was actually leaving. So that didn't make sense. I went back to the bar and asked who I thought was the hostess or manager to to see what was taking so long. 5 minutes later we watched her leave the kitchen and go back to the bar. We again asked the waitress to get the manager and she said he wasn't there. But, the owner was. It was the lady in the bar. At this time it was 8 pm and the waitress came out to ask what temperature my husband wanted his lamb. Obviously they hadn't even started his meal. And we had waited so long we were now just really wanting to leave. When I got back up and went to the bar the owner came to our table and was insistent that our meal was almost ready. I asked how it could be when they had just asked about meat temperature. She became quite irate when we said we just wanted the check. She then accused me of screaming and yelling which I never had. Her customer service skills were abysmal, her demeanor sorely lacking, and her staff although attentive lacking in training. All she was interested in was chatting with her buddies in the bar. We left without eating. This morning we ran into a couple who had been sitting with us in the bar and told them what happened. They informed us that she was not a nice lady and her attitude is well known. It's quite sad because it looked phenomenal.More
