Here we've found a busy overall well established restaurant that serves just about anything Downeast living can offer - and does it well. The service is prompt and the food worth the stop. It's usually a bit crowded but if you are with a group they can accommodate you, and we've never been disappointed with our meals or service.

This business has been family run for a long time and the hospitality is second to none! Bring your appetite, because there is no skimping on the serving size. Good eats and good prices to boot. This place can get packed in a hurry so try calling ahead to see if there is seating.

My mouth is watering just typing this review and thinking about how delicious the fish and chips were. First of all it was fresh haddock, not cod (eeeewww) And the serving size was massive. I had lots to take home with me for later. The desserts are out of this world but I didnt get to try any because i... More

Roadside diner about 20 min south of Calais near the turnoff for Eastport on Rt. 1. Menu features deep-fried seafood. Lobster rolls available but not cheap ( about $18). Check the specials on the white board when you come in (behind the main counter). Chowders/stews are the healthier & better choices on the menu.

And obviously the go-to of most people in this area of Washington Co. Homemade desserts, which I'm assured are delicious. We never have room after lunch to even consider dessert. Great loosemeat burgers, homemade frenchfries, if you request them, fried clams, fish and chips. And the staff treats everyone like home folks. Try their specials on Sunday, and you will be..homefolks... More

Nothing like local with no pretensions. Good seafood, which is what I mostly go for. Large portions. Pleasant staff. Like many places in the area, don't ever judge the book by its cover.

The New Friendly Restaurant has delicious home cooked meals that are a great value. They definitely know how to cook seafood! Don't expect frills - it's a simple spot but the food, the service, and the prices are great! My husband ordered a fried clam platter that came with two sides. I got a small scallop plate, that also came... More

After leaving a restaurant for terrible service I was more than happy we stumbled onto this gem. The seafood chowder was chock full of wonders from the sea and had a great simple taste. Nothing fancy just a good ole seafood chowder. Home cooking at it's best. The service was great. No frills just good food. We didn't have dessert... More

After having to leave a restaurant for no service in East Port, we headed toward Calais. We stumbled across this little restaurant and decided to try as we were hungry and there were lots of cars outside which is a good sign. We were greeted and order taken immediately and the food was delivered in record time. I ordered the... More

If you're looking for good home cooking, this is the place. Comfort food, burgers, and specials. And the pies ---- oh the pies!! I am told they have the best fried clams around, though I am not a seafood lover, so I can't say. I do know their homemade soups are fantastic. Always great service.

The best OMG lobster roll in the world! All food looked good. Inexpensive local cuisine in a casual, diner atmosphere.
