First and foremost the booths are just plain worn out. The seating was so uncomfortable, no matter how good the food was I'd never go back. I spent the entire time trying to find a high spot on the seat that wasn't sagging like your...grandmothers worn out mattress. It was literally painful. Seriously, I know it's expensive to replace booths....just replace them with inexpensive auction tables and chairs. That would be more comfortable. Gordon Ramsay and Robert Irvine would flip a lid! Second. I ordered a Caesar salad with herbed chicken. The chicken was moist and tender. The dressing was not Caesar dressing. Best I can tell it was a lemon poppy seed concoction. The romaine was sparsely dressed with it so I asked for a side of the dressing to moisten things up. 10 minutes later I was presented with a plastic cup full of...vegetable oil? And the croutons...meh. Signs of real parmesan cheese? None. My dining partner ordered a three cheese grilled cheese sandwich. It was okay, but lacked any pizazz. The bread was barely toasted and the cheese barely melted. The pickle was good and the chips may have been homemade, but they just as easily could have come from a bag of Cape Cod. The server was a sweet little girl who seemed to be on her first job. She didn't know much but tried hard! She didn't offer the specials until prompted and she knew nothing about the wine selection. Which is pretty much non-existent. Get new seating Vittles and I might come back on a day you have the A Team in the kitchen and in the front of the house. Wish you all the best! ScottMore

Stopped right at closing, no one else was there. We were seated and served graciously. Food was excellent, local beef burger, chicken wrap, and fabulous frizzled onions. An excellent local place to eat.

No sign of a breakfast/brunch menu at 11 am on a Sun. Menu presented on tacky, much used sheet of copy paper w/food stains. Wait person failed to advise re: a salads contents and added a already declined item to one dish. Gristle in chicken,...coffee ice cold when presented. We have come here from the beginning and it has done nothing but decline. Do any employees care a wit about the place. NOT GOING back for shoddy food and behavior!More

Went there for lunch on a cold December day. I had the cheeseburger, my friend had the Salmon patty and seafood chowder. Forgot to take pictures

This is the first place I’ve eaten in a long time that the food actually tastes homemade and delicious! The service was excellent and bread was the best Love the quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Will definitely come again

We stopped here for a late lunch. I ordered the portabello mushroom wrap and husband got a burger. Both were quite nice. He commented that his burger tasted very fresh. My wrap was nice, the spinach was a Bit gritty, could have used another rinse...I think.More

I've had lunch at Vittles several times and found it to be average/good. I went for an evening business event and was disappointed in the experience. They did not have a liquor license so no alcoholic beverages were available. They didn't tell the organizers this...until the day before leaving no time for them to find a different venue. The meal was not what I expected. It was two pieces of chicken, each smaller then my palm (and I have little hands) with half of my plate covered in mashed potatoes. They weren't regular mashed potatoes. To my surprise they were mixed with some kind of squash and no other vegetables on the plate. It was a disappointing dinner for sure.More

Here is a nice restaurant offering a good breakfast and lunch menu. Eating bar, tables and booth seating, fast friendly service and good portions. Little of the pricey side of what you would expect but still forth a try on occasion.

Classic American food options. I got a burger and my companion got a panini, both were cooked well. I especially liked the smoked Gouda on my burger. Nice staff, classic diner feel.

Found this one on I-Exit looking for a better option on a long road trip and wondered if it could be as good as the reviews said it was. It was a wonderful surprise as it lived up to and even exceeded our expectations. Very...old fashioned decor but service was superb and food - all cooked from scratch - was even better. Don't miss the cajun seafood chowder it's amazing. Sandwiches were huge and delicious. We desperately wanted to try the homemade ice cream but just hadn't an inch of room left after eating the soup and sandwiches. Suggest sharing one plate if you're a normal person!!More
