Butternut squash soup went to the spicy side rather than sweet and was watery. There was no substantial hearty feeling to this soup.It was like broth. FYSA the public market is a red and yellow building and isn't labeled all that well, they are on the 2nd floor. It's like a food court. $5 for cup

Jalapeno Cheddar soup is the best on a cold day in January. Served with a big homemade roll. Yum! Tucked away upstairs in the Market. Find it. You won't be disappointed.

We actually tried the one in Freeport and the Root Vegetable Soup was beyond good and the rolls they serve with the soup are simply out of this world. When the shopping has taken a toll [because you are right in the middle of the shopping Mecca of the Northeast] take a break and find this little gem of a... More

This place in Freeport, Maine is a casual fast food place which has wide variety of soups. I tried the butternut squash soup which was hearty and comes with bread. It is convenient, affordable and has fast service. Highly recommend it on cold days.

It was early afternoon and I just wanted some soup all of a sudden. I ran into a local and asked if there was a local soup place. She got so excited and told me about this Kamsouptra and wow!!!!

We stopped in the Freeport, Maine, location for a bowl of hot soup before heading to a movie. We both opted for the vegan chili which was robust, well-seasoned and accompanied by a decent wheat roll. For a casual, cafeteria style place it fit the bill for a quick, hearty meal.

I love the variety of options. I'm gluten free and there are always at least four gf choices. They have gf rolls for a .75 up charge. Today I mixed broccoli and cheddar (thin) with the root veggie (thick and sweet) soup. Delicious!!! The gal waiting on me was very personable.

This place is simple. They serve delicious soup in a very casual setting and that's it. It is served with delicious bread that is made fresh from Portland Pie pizza dough. They have about a half dozen or so soups in a choice of 3 sizes for a reasonable price. It is a very casual "food court" style setting (but... More

A bit disappointed with one of our options for an early dinner. Flavor just wasn't there as always for the Broccoli and Cheddar - pretty bland. I was not as disappointed with the Curried root vegetable which was as good as always. Will be back.

Such a great array of soups here at Karmasouptra. All of the soups are amazing, my only gripe was the pricing (in general Portland lunches are more expensive than other cities in Maine and even more expensive than other New England cities like Boston).
