This is a classic Portland restaurant, where there isn't one bad thing on the menu! I love all of the seafood, even though I'm not a huge seafood person. Only issue is there's always a wait, so make sure to book a reservation in advance!

I stumbled on this place today when I needed a place to warm up. Ended up sitting in the bar area and could see out the windows to the water. Bar tenders were extremely nice and attentive and helped me pick out my meal. Ordered the lobster stew and scallop sandwich. Oh. My. Goodness. So good!! Stew was simple but... More

DiMillo's is nice on an upper deck outside on a great summer's day in Maine but otherwise the food is good but not as outstanding as some of our other wonderful restaurants here in Portland. I find for the meals on the menu that it is a bit overpriced and you are sitting on a boat - thus calling it... More

I have not always been a fan of this restaurant, but DiMillo's, or "the boat," as some refer to it, has really upped its game, and is no longer just the tourist magnet it once was. The haddock chowder (not thick and glommy) I had at lunch recently is one of the best soups I have EVER had, and the... More

Whenever they come to the Portland area for shopping, eating at DiMillo's has long become a "Must" for Northern Mainers. The same applies to visitors from all over the world. I have brought friends there from as far away as South Africa and China. There are few places that can provide the same combination of view and atmosphere. Many locals... More

Good location and great decor. You are actually in a boat on the water in the Old Port section of the city. This must be why the prices are so high because my lunch was mediocre. 21 bucks for a substandard lobster roll which just about any diner in the city can beat for a better price. The clientele here... More

It is understandable why DiMillo's is a tourist attraction . . . you can't get more "on the water" than this, an actual floating restaurant. When you first walk in, the scent is a bit off-putting (it smells a bit like the air fresheners found in a porta-potty) but once you're inside the restaurant, that smell is gone. The dining... More

Atmosphere is alright. Being from Boston, we weren't overwhelmed by the views. Given recommendations from locals, we expected more.

A local took me to DiMillo's and I ordered their $55 lobster dinner which was a 2 1/2 pound steamed lobster. It was great. Their clam chowder was also good. My friend had the Fishermans platter and it was huge.

Description
Our restaurant actually floats, and because it is surrounded by water, every table offers spectacular views of Portland Harbor. Our outside decks are great spots to see the sights while enjoying a meal or cocktail. Maine lobster is what we do here and we do it better than anyone.
