After scouring the Old Port for a late lunch/early dinner and finding nothing, we ended up at the Old Port Tavern. We had been here years ago and experienced a mediocre meal so I wasn't too excited about another try. I settled for broiled haddock with rice and peas. Fish a bit over cooked but peas very very fresh and... More

We love this restaurant and come here every time we visit. The menu is varied and prices are reasonable. Had the New England style fish and chips. It was delicious but the portion was huge! Easily shared by two. The quality of food and the outstanding wait staff are exceptional and never waiver. Simply a great place to visit

This place was very near our hotel. We went for lunch and liked it so much we came back for dinner. Service was quite slow, but was made up for by the quality of the food and ambiance (though the ambiance definitely went away when the DJ started playing). Overall a nice stop for a casual meal. Reasonable prices too!

First time there,I got the ma and cheese with lobster and was really impressed. Plenty of chunks of meat and the sauce was very tasty. I forgot what my wife got but she enjoyed her meal also. I would more than likely return for another meal in the future. The inside is very interesting.

Sizeable portions four our lunch sandwiches. My chicken breast was very moist. It felt warm and cozy on a cold wintery day.

We were in Portland on a Sunday night in the middle of winter, so options in the Commercial Street area were limited. Our "regular" places not being available, we decided to try OPT, a place to which I had not been in thirty years. We were presently surprised. Good atmosphere, friendly and fast service, and good food. In addition to... More

I stopped in for dinner on a wintry night and was alone in the restaurant. There are beautiful fishtanks and numerous tv screens. The lobster pie was good, with a sprinkle of bread crumbs on the top that detracted from the filling. The cheesecake was average. Overall I would recommend for light fare, drinks and watching sports.

Being in Portland in the off season gave us a chance to try a wider variety of restaurants on a walk-in basis. On a cold windy Friday evening in January, the Old Port Pub's entrance looked inviting, so we gave it a try. It's a basement restaurant/pub whose back wall is part of the original seawall for Portland and has... More

Two Lobsters for $25. They call it the Double. Why can't we have this everywhere? Location was upscale pub style. Downstairs, but with lots of Maine charm. I can say enough about the Lobster bisc and the Double. Fantastic meal at an unbelievable value...

This tavern/restaurant is a well kept local secret. The owners don't advertise much but those who are in the know go there for great food and drink!
