Skip the fancy places like Fore Street, and head to Portland Lobster Co. Great food, pleasant setting along the harbor, comfortable picnic tables overlooking the canals. Lobsters were just as good as you would expect in Maine, steamed to the perfect temperature. Steamers were superb,...More

Great spot for traditional Maine lobster may. Seating on the wharf love music many nights and fairly priced. Incredible selection of local beers and wines. An old standby in what had become a foodie town.

We initially were hit with sticker shock when we saw the prices here, but we quickly learned that most places are around the same price. Great casual atmosphere and EXCELLENT lobster rolls. Also loved the lobster mac and cheese. Free refills on soda....to me that's...More

We are locals and although this is a big tourist attraction, we still like the Portland Lobster Company. The evenings are punctuated with a live band every night and so far they are all great. We were there last evening and the Jason Spooner band...More

Dropped by on a Friday evening with great live music ( the loud) a packed deck (the crowded) and scores of fun people from everywhere. Food was good although all self service was a little cumbersome. CASUAL fun comes to mind.

Walk-up counter to order food, with informal seating overlooking marina. Lobster in lobster rolls was fresh, sweet, and tender. Fried haddock sandwich was also excellent. Highly recommended.

If you find yourself in the Old Port section of Portland, treat yourself to lunch or dinner at Portland Lobster Co. The seafood is fresh and the portions are generous. Little seating inside but plenty out on the dock. Beautiful setting.

The biggest are 2 lb. but the best deal are to buy the twin 1 lb. lobster dinner. Its much cheaper & the 2 x 1 lb. lobsters are easier to peel & better tasting.
do they take reservations?

No. It's not that kind of place. Think more take-out with picnic tables in the back.
