We picked 555 because we heard good things about their food. People were right! First, the bread and butter they offered was amazing - whichever herbs they put in that butter worked wonders on my taste buds. I ordered gouda cheese platter as an appetizer and it came with crusty thins, and caramel clusters - yumm! For entree, I picked... More

I had the lobster mac and cheese. No appetizer, no drinks, no wine, no desert, $48. Delicious and just the right size portion! Just a few pieces of lobster, but expertly prepared and expertly presented with a large slice of truffle and the mac and cheese as a tremendous accompaniment. Restaurant was not busy but the kitchen was surprisingly slow.... More

We picked 555 mainly because of the lobster mac and cheese that I've seen in photos and trust me it did not disappoint. We had that with the pairings menu with wines that perfectly complemented each course. Service was top-notch as well very knowledgeable and attentive.

I brought my mother 1,700 miles for a Mothers Day treat. 555 was part of the destination and did not disappoint. The grilled Caesar Salad followed by the best Lobster Mac and Cheese on the planet was one of the highlights of Maine. Put this place on your list when you are near Portland.

We choose 555 thinking it would be a highlight dinner rounding out our stay in Portland and it lacked connect the dots, meaning: Grace upon arrival was a bit pressured, wait person was okay food made-up and a bit rushed, wine service needs a little polishing in tactfulness.

First, the food at Five Fifty Five is fantastic. This is our second time eating here and both times the food was delicious, creative, and elegantly presented. There were four of us and each of our dishes (scallops, lobster mac and cheese, short ribs, and tasting menu was wonderful. However, a note on the tasting menu-it cost $65 and is... More

Hello, I wanted to thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience. I am thrilled that you loved your food, but dismayed that you left unhappy. Celebrating my husband's 30th. We each did the 5 course tasting menu and were blown away by the food. Everything was excellent, especially the lobster mac n cheese and the mussels. The price for the tasting menu was also reasonable and we both left full. I booked on open table and left a comment that it was his birthday- the... More

Great restaurant and bar. Have always had great service. The drink menu is creative and very good. I have been five times and have only ordered the truffle mac n cheese because it's too delicious to try something new. Definitely would recommend! If you're staying at the Westin or visiting the Portland Museum of Art, it's a two minute walk.... More
