I have been to more or less a hundred or so, maybe more, Thai restaurants. Everywhere from Hawaii to Maine, and I must say this place is within my top three. Cute & quiet atmosphere that makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed- which is what you want while enjoying something delicious. flavorful-beautiful dishes. Mind you, I love it the... More

We've had the pleasure of discovering Saeng recently and have enjoyed take out and sit down service. On a recent Friday night, my husband and I got there early and enjoyed Panang Curry and their Crispy Duck special. Both were amazing and we both cleaned our plates, and the friendly staff person noted how proud our mothers would be :-)... More

A charming little restaurant with terrific food! Saeng Thai sits at the corner of Congress and Oak Streets, across from the Maine Medical Center parking garage. It is tiny and modest, but its handsome wood walls, pleasant lighting and fabrics, art and craft works subtly celebrating the elephant, revered in Thai culture, create a cozy atmosphere that makes it pleasant... This is a small, neighborhood place sort of off the beaten track but we had an excellent meal there. We ordered what we always do (all of it vegetarian)...Pad Thai and some sort of curry vegetables. Very good and the waitresses were very attentive and nice. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I shared the Pad SI-EW which we added shrimp to and the Thai chicken which was served in a half pineapple (presentation almost too pretty to eat). Very good. Service was very attentive. Very small dining room, however very busy with takeout customers whom they seemed to know.

Wonderful experience eating at this gem of a restaurant. The three of us ordered the basil pad thai, we added shrimp. Because my mother doesn't care for hot food, we asked for extra mild. They made it perfectly. The Tom Ka Gai (with coconut milk) was DELICIOUS. THe chicken in the soup was good but the taste of the soup... More

Worth the almost mile walk each way! This is as good as authentic thai I have ever had in other cities. Small, family owned for 20 years. Byob, which is always fun. I had the minced chx, 2 star heat, and was a bit much for me, but I loved it! Our lovely waitress offered to bring me an entire... More

Hi Clark, Thank you so much for your nice review! It was a pleasure to have you. It is hard to gauge the heat system as it is different at every Thai restaurant, but you braved it out! A little heat is good for the soul. Please visit us again next time you are in town! More

So I guess that averages out to 3 stars. We wanted to find some place off the typical tourist path so, based on a TripAdvisor poster in the window, we walked into this nondescript Thai place near the medical center. From the traffic in and out, I would guess that this is mostly a takeout destination for people working at... More

Hello! Thank you for your review. We are so sad to hear that you didn't like our rendition of the BBQ Duck curry dish. I understand it is not what you expected but most people that know it is a curry dish enjoy it. Perhaps you should try our other dishes next time you are back in town. Safe journey! More

I come here a lot, for both eat-in and take-out. The last time was so disappointing (see review) and it was not the usual experience. I had a hankering for thai food so I decided to go back for take-out. They have redeemed themselves. The pad thai this time was very good: they got the spice just right and it... More
