We decided that we would ride over to The birches by boat for lunch. They have cabins you can rent. I found that the lunch was delicious. We ate inside and watch the boats go by on the lake

The food was very good and the wait staff was very accomodating. The dining hall offers a spectacular view of Kineo and Farm Island.

We happened on this on Thursday and we were leaving on Saturday. Wish we could have found it sooner. Like many places in the area the bar area and restaurant are smaller but the setting is super. Get there early enough to catch the beauty of the lake. Our waitress was Lindsey and couldn't have been better. We had a... More

I love this restaurant. It is located in Rockwood, Maine on Moosehead Lake. The dining room is very rustic with a large field stone fireplace at one end. The food has always been wonderful. I just love the atmosphere of this place and always seem to be in the area for my birthday, so celebrate my day by eating at... More

We celebrated our Anniversary with a dinner at the birches. It was recommended to make a reservation, which we did. We arrived and was told to go into the dining room. Upon entering the dining room, there was no one to seat us. We chose a table that had "reserved" sign on it. The server came about 5 minutes later.... More

Overheard some people talking about this place so decided to try it. Twenty miles from Greenville on dirt roads, it's not the easiest place to find! Once you get to the Birches you have to find the restaurant - no signs! Go through registration and there it is - overlooking the lake. Very rustic charming! Good mixed drinks, wine choices... More

I wasn't impressed. The food was mediocre, dry chicken for me & dry pork for my husband. The poor waitress was obviously new & tried her best, but she should not have been on her own yet. She even asked for help from other servers & was ignored. I felt bad for her. I won't go again.

Didn't love our cabin but the dining was excellent. Great food and service. Nicest thing about the resort

Have been before but the place fascinates me, right on the edge of the lake, you can sit outside or go inside and step back in time. We were there for lunch, I had the Haddock sandwich with sweet potato fries, a friend got the onion rings, we split the sides and there was almost too much to eat. The... More
