Enjoy the park and save time and a fair bit of dough by making some popover dough at home before you go to Acadia. Don't forget to set a kettle of water on to make tea while they are baking. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Grease and flour six 6-ounce custard cups. In a medium bowl... More

This was a very disappointing visit. We have eaten here on several previous trips and had no issues. This time we had dinner. Our service was slow; we had to wait nearly 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive after ordering. Throughout dinner we were bombarded by flies (in late September). The chowder was served lukewarm and was mostly cubes... More

We hiked the Jordon pond loop. When we were finished we needed a little snack. We stopped in to the pond house. We had a great bowl of chowder with some popovers. The chowder was delicious and the popovers are something to experience.

We went for a quick snack/lunch. There were 4 of us and we ordered 2 BLTT's and the waitress said we could substitute a salad, no mention of a $2.50 charge for the salad. Two of ordered a popover as we wanted to try them. She came out with a bread basket and offered each of us a popover as... More

We didn't bother eating a meal here given the reviews we had read previous to our visit, but we did stop for Popovers, Tea and a Popover Sundae. These items were quite good, however, my hot chocolate came out lukewarm. Our server, while very busy, was quite nice and apologized for the length of time it took her to come... More

We had no intention of making this stop but due to bad weather we decided to get a table and eat a little something til a storm passed. So happy we did. We just got the Pop-over specials. A warm beverage and two pop-overs. It was perfect. We enjoyed steaming cups of cappuccino and cocoa and yummy popovers with strawberry... More

Pop-overs are over rated. And staff was not very friendly. And parking was terrible during the labor weekend.

My wife and I were here 25-30 years ago and remember the Jordan Pond House as a classy place. Now the atmosphere is different, more like a service plaza on a US turnpike, although that's clearly an exaggeration - more like an upscale service plaza on an English turnpike. My wife's entre was awful and mine was very good, hence... More

My husband and I both had lobster roll, with sweet potato and beet chips and added popovers to our lunch. We had two iced teas. The total with tip came to $75.00. While the lobster roll was good, the sweet potato chips were rather stale and the beet chips were soggy. The popovers were good, but not fantastic. Definitely overpriced... More

Staff was very blase and you could tell they were tired of tourists. Gave us incorrect information about reservations. My water glass was filthy - there were flakes of food stuck on the inside and I got a sideways "you're a pain in the neck" look when I asked for a clean glass. Took us an hour to get 2... More
