Get here early if you want to beat the lines! Every time we have visited Portland/Cape Elizabeth, so stop by Scratch to bring breakfast to my family on the Cape- and as always, there is a line around the block for the delicious food baked from Scratch! We particularly love their berry muffins, but if you want a great bagel,... More

Fabulous bagels. Especially the Asiago. Great beach front bakery with great coffee bar to boot. Sandwiches are good too

Scratch has delicious bagels, coffee, tasty treats and friendly staff. Their bagels are a huge hit among our family and the long lines are definitely worth your time.

Scratch makes the most unique and delicious bagels I've ever eaten. Certainly worth the wait as on the weekend the lines can be somewhat long. In addition to bagels, they have a complete selection of tasty delights and excellent coffee. Make sure you try the cream cheese with chives to add to your bagel. They have a reasonable wine selection... More

Scratch is a great place. The bakery items are top drawer. We have had the deserts and they are great. People line up for the nontraditional bagels- very chewey. The bread they bake here is wonderful. But, the star of the show is their baguette. It is simply the best I have ever had, including those I had in Paris.... More

My favorite bakery in the world. Okay, I live nearby and I know I am spoiled but nonetheless... So, maybe the best bagels in the universe (thank you guys. don't change a thing) The savory Scones are to die for. A collection of desert items will make you the king or queen of a dinner event. We are very lucky... More

It's very tiny and they have awesome bagels and they make their own cream cheese which is equally awesome. That's all I had but I can't imagine the other stuff is not great. Get there early because they do run out. The people that work there are very friendly and helpful.

Good bagels, not really NY style, a bit chewier but good flavor. Baked treats are incredible. Coconut cake is best I have had. European style sandwiches ( cheese and pesto on French bread, ham and cheese with interesting mustard and arugula etc)

Had Pizza & bagels for the road. Pizza slices huge. I liked the tie up spot for the dogs. They had dog biscuits too.
