We spent a rainy evening dining at Cafe Dry Dock while staying oin Mount Desert. The surroundings were pleasant, the staff was well informed and the food was satisying.

Went twice during our visit in late October. Saturday night: great food, great service, quiet and charming, cozy atmosphere. Wednesday night: the last live entertainment for the season was singing oldies. Everyone seemed to know each other and made us feel very welcome. We had a great time, but it was loud in there. The food and service was again... More

Found this great restaurant driving to Bass Harbor to see the lighthouse. The best way to describe this restaurant is cozy. I just loved the way it is decorated. Lovely hardwood floors and teal trim with fresh flowers on the table. I had a cup of excellent clam chowder and the special for lunch, Annie's Chicken Salad on a croissant... More

We stopped in for lunch in late afternoon (between 2:00-2:30pm) on a Monday in mid-October, a time we wouldn't have expected to be any restaurant's best. After a short wait for a table, we were seated and promptly greeted by a very pleasant and friendly server. The food came quickly and was excellent: fish tacos with fresh halibut and an... More

Have been to the dry dock a number of times and have found the food and service to be pretty consistent, both are good.

The issues with food pricing depends on a lot of factors. First off is quality as prime rib cost more then chuck steak. There are many food items that are very expensive, especially seafood, There are cheaper ways to buy this as farmed raise shrimp from Asia and frozen fish from all over the world. We buy shrimp that are... More

Our tour group enjoyed our lunch at the Cafe Dry Dock Restaurant. The decor was appealing, the staff friendly and the food great! I enjoyed the Turkey Apple Pretzel Roll Sandwich which consisted of turkey, apple, bacon, smoked apple Gruyere cheese with cinnamon apple mayonnaise on a pretzel roll. Our group agreed this was one of the best restaurants we... More

We ordered 'Lobster Stuffed with Crab' and got a pile of greasy, bread-dominated crab mix with a few chunks of lobster encased within. The following morning I still felt like my face was slippery.

You get a whole 1 1/2 pound lobster in your dish, removed from the shell. They add butter which is how we like it in Maine and some crab stuffing. These items are local ways we serve seafood. I'm sure if I were in New Mexico I would find some food offensive and not to my liking. That is just... More

Went here because it was walking distance from our Inn, but delighted with the food and service. I had the Parmesan baked scallops, mashed potatoes and green beans. Delicious!

I did not know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. The food was very good and the service prompt. The salad I ordered was great and a very healthy portion. I also had mussels which had a really unusual sauce which was wonderful. Great place to try. No tablecloths on the tables but it was an informal type of... More
