Walking in downstairs, you realise this is authentic French pastry, macaroons, chocolates; all made on site. Yummy. We buy our Buche de Noel here. Upstairs, the restaurant has nice salads, croque monsieur and madame, daily specials - and a second floor, umbrella-ed patio which catches the breeze in the summer. No loud music; attentive wait staff. I wish I could... More

Totally professional staff, warm greeting, and beautifully presented food. Praline is hard to beat for lunch or dinner. The crusty baguette slices are addictive, frites perfectly fried, and entrees all well thought out, seasoned and cooked as requested. Make sure to save room for something sweet, if only a pair of macarons with end-of-meal coffee. A busy place, so make... More

This neighborhood restaurant in the Sumner area of Bethesda offers consistently high quality French classics. Last night we got a reservation at the last minute and had great soups, coq au vin & cod beurre blance--all really outstanding. Have been a number of times and had a similar positive experience. Reasonable prices, attentive service, good wine list at decent prices,... More

Praline is absolutely five stars for its fabulous pastries and wonderful custom birthday cakes. We have also used them for catering and their Boeuf Bourguignon was fantastic. Despite being located in a fairly uninteresting shopping center, a late summer lunch of duck on the upper terrace surrounded by potted plants and accompanied by a nice rose can transport you momentarily... The pastry, baked goods, quiche, sandwiches, etc in the downstairs bistro are always fresh, high quality and delicious. It can be hard to choose - but my experience is that there is no wrong choice! Having gluten-free (celiac) family members, I am particularly fond of their macaroons, which come in a number of nice flavors and colors. They also box /... More

My wife and I made a last minute reservation to this French bistro that has repeatedly been very good. She had the excellent mussels, a huge amount of large tender mussels in a great broth. I had the cod which was also quite good. The creme brulle was quite thich and rich. Overall an excellent meal.

My mom and I went to Praline for lunch last month. I ordered the chicken pot pie and she had the vegetarian quiche--total comfort food! The service and the food were both great. The pastries downstairs are also good if you're in a rush.

We elected to have Thanksgiving dinner out (3 of us) and selected Praline (the Bistro part). Upstairs is the main bistro, it is open, not cramped, light, and quiet, although there were few others there for the holiday dinner. There was only a limited price fixed (at $48/person) menu for the occasion. My wife and I had a glass of... More

Go and enjoy the pissaladiere - a French pizza with caramelized onion on a crispy French bread - not baguette- with pesto, roasted tomatoes, cheese and topped with beautiful black olives. Finish this off with a chocolate croissant. Pure heaven!

Lovely baked goods and excellent tea choices -- this was my first visit but it will not be the last. The cashier was friendly and knowledgeable and the fireplace made it feel warm and cozy.
