The tap room burger was very tasty with a quality patty and crispy maple bacon. The beer choices were adequate and the service was friendly. Good vibe overall. Would come back to have the burger and try a few other dishes. Surprised it ranked so low considering the other options

My family visited this restaurant on a Friday night. No wait line to get in. The atmosphere is relaxed with a large bar, flat screen televisions, and gas fireplace. I ordered the burger sliders with a side salad. The burgers were cooked to perfection and the salad was fresh. They make their own sauces and dressings on premise. My husband... More

Lots of beer to choose from. Happy with their IPA selection. Ordered a burger and the roll was dry and burger over cooked. Should have sent it back and replaced with another beer.

Went here a few weeks ago for the first time after being in downtown Bethesda for a work event. Nice atmosphere and good selection of beers and other drinks of course. Would definitely return.

This could be the worst place on the planet, I don't even know how they stay in business in a competitive market like Bethesda. The service was terrible and the food even worse. This is no place to try or even consider going too. Awful.

Our office took to American Tap Room for our holiday lunch this year -- we've been to most of the local landmarks, but not here. Caveat: I'd been here before and gave it 3-stars. Giving it 3 again - though if it were just for food - it would be 2.5. Our food was - just ok. Our party had... More

This is a fine place to eat if you aren't looking for anything special. They have standard American fare and a good beer selection.

We were two people, we share a plate and two beers and it was 50 dollars. Meat too much cooked. Not worth it at all

My wife and I went for dinner...everything we ordered had to be sent back due to poor preparation. Wine order was never delivered. Finally just left and went elsewhere to eat. Wait staff seem completely under manned and unable to provide proper service. Lot's of great places to eat in this area of Bethesda...pass this one by.

Went to ATR after work for drink and quick dinner. Took bartender at least 10 minutes to acknowledge me and then she gives me wrong drink. After waiting another 10 minutes to get her attention, I ordered Southern Chicken Salad. When it arrived, it looked terrible -- dark fried and the chicken looked grey. I tried a small bite which... This is American Regional Cuisine at its classic, pub-inspired best. The food is fun and what we like to call “approachable”. You’ll also enjoy some twists on the classics with taste-inspired ideas like our Dirty Caesar Salad and Greek Turkey Burger. At the American Tap Room we believe in using local ingredients as much as possible and, yes, everything we serve goes well with beer. Ranging from weekend brunch, to a casual lunch outing or an after-work gathering in our bar, each dining experience is uniquely enjoyable. Enjoy your time with us on our outdoor patio, inside by the fireplace, or by booking an event in our private room.
