The Fish Whistle was a very good place for lunch. I was with a group of 5 and we all enjoyed what we had-quiche special, soft shell crab sandwich, chicken sandwich, and salad. The service was good and the location is very nice on the water. Although all the food was good and I will return, it was not great... More

We have gone to The Fish Whistle several times over the past few years after dropping our kids off at a nearby camp. The location is absolutely beautiful--right on the water, but the service is hit or miss, with misses being more frequent than hits. The hostess was barely engaged when we arrived and our server was hassled and almost... More

We really wanted to like the food here. The location on the water is perfect. We have eaten here twice. The first time was in Dec 2014 and we were not impressed, but we figured we'd give it a second pass before giving up. Let me first say, our server, Tee, was delightful! Great sense of humor, helpful and attentive.... More

We had spent a few hours walking around the historic area of Chestertown and were ready for lunch. We had passed The Fish Whistle in our walking and decided to go there for lunch. We were seated immediately and the view was lovely. I was very happy with my soup and sandwich. It was just good food. My husband however... More

This was a gamble from the start as we had heard rumors that they were closing. But, when we called to ask if reservations were needed for Saturday night, they said absolutely. So, we thought that was a good sign. Turned out it was not and they were not very busy for a Saturday night at 7:30pm. Our first burned... More

I've had several great lunches in Chestertown but this wasn't one of them. Being "Taco Tuesday," I ordered the Fish Whistle taco. As billed, it was more like a burrito but unfortunately, the lightly crispy burrito wrap was the best thing about it. There was plenty of tilapia in the burrito but it was dry and seemed "institutional." The pico... More

Had a very nice lunch here. Food was delicious and the service was good. Sat on the covered deck with a nice view of the harbor and shore on the other side of the harbor.

We had a lovely view of the Chester River on a gorgeous spring evening. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient. I really liked my tuna tartare/avocado starter, though the cream of crab soup was disappointing; thin, little crabmeat and rather spicy. The garden salad was large and pretty basic. I'll definitely return to try more seafood entrees and their desserts.

Great waterside bar/restaurant with outdoor seating. Nice menu choices. It was a good place to stop in for a bite to eat or a relaxing cocktail. We were there at lunch time,

Three of us stopped here for lunch while visiting Chestertown for the day and we were pleased with our choice. Two had the quiche of the day which was fine but nothing special and the other had the ribs. The ribs were very tender & had good flavor. The service was excellent and we were so glad we listened to... More
