Nice atmosphere and good service. We, a group of 4 persons, started our meal with a mixed salad and then had three different cuts of their dry-aged beef as recommended accompanied by potatoes and beans. Unfortunately, the steaks were not so tender as we were expecting and did not give us the mouth melting experience we had been looking forward... More

Our son who lives in Bern suggested that we try Landgasthof Hirschen for a Sunday Lunch as he had heard good reports about the food. We were not disappointed - the food and service was excellent and the host Klaus speaks very good english. Landgasthof Hirschen specialises in top quality aged steak - Klaus suggested that we share 3 different... More

the food is very good and the way it is prepared is good too. The chef is a very nice person and it is clear that he knows what to do. Plenty of choices, of course not so much for vegetarian people even though there are good choices of local cheese. Booking in advance and organize a way to go... More

This a great little restaurant with a beautiful garden and quality food. We've been here several times and have taken family and friends on different occasions. They are open almost every day of the year, which is great considering a lot of places close for holidays in summer and fall. Start with the Kir aperitif - these guys do a... More

We highly recommend this restaurant! The food, the service and the entire experience could not have been better. Our lack of common language was overcome with their eagerness to please their customers. If you're in the Bern area, leave town and have a wonderful evening at Hirschen.

Wonderful traditional Gasthof just outside Bern. A perfect excursion by bike. we started the dinner in the beautiful garden where the head-waiter brought us the steaks of the day on a silver platter. All seemed wonderful and with a little help we chose the the hanged T-bone steak together with the tenderloin. The prices might seem expensive but when you... More

If you need to get away from the city, or are just looking for a charming restaurant in a really swiss village, this is your spot. The beef is to die for, it just melts with the fork and knife. I tried the T-bone for two and it was cooked to perfection, charred on the outside and tender on the... More

Description
The Hirschen has plenty to offer. The restaurant is situated near Bern and is an idyllic venue for families and others wanting to escape the city. In the summer you can dine under the chestnut trees out on the terrace while the kids enjoy themselves in the playground. The restaurant also offers plenty of choice in terms of the cuisine, with dishes from Switzerland, "Dry Aged Beef" from the Grill 15 weeks aging on the bone, Porterhouse, T-Bone, New York Strip and Rib-Eye well as Premium Black Angus cooked on a hot soap-stone.
