The place is popular and certain items sell out quick on the weekends. Prices are reasonable but you are getting what you pay for. The food is of a cheap quality. I'd rather just pay a little more and go some where like Texas Roadhouse.
I've been looking for a good BBQ place for awhile. My coworkers told me about George's. Coming from Texas, I had doubts. We drove up on a Sunday and caught wind of the smoke from the pit. The place had the required smell. We went in and ordered several meat dishes to get a good feel for the food. I... More
After unloading the 20 foot Uhaul at my son's and daughter-in-law's new place, we needed food ... good food. Indian Head doesn't have a lot to offer in town, but it doesn't have to. George's is all you need. The smoked flavor was all through the sliced pork (not pulled pork drowning in sauce). The wings were fantastic, charred to... More
I love this place!! The ribs are the best I've ever had. They are well seasoned and tender. Portions are plentiful. The full rack is bigger than any other place I've been. I've lived in 5 different states and traveled all over the country so I'm not speaking from lack of knowledge or comparisons. I just tried another place closer... More
Great place for food, whether eating in or taking home. Food is well-seasoned, reasonably priced and conveniently accessible to traffic. There are options on how spicy you want the sauce to be. The fried fish is also an excellent value.
Favorite of the locals, great BBQ ribs, pulled sandwiches, and BBQ chicken. If heading down 301, it's worth the 20 minute detour to Indian Head for the BBQ. Slaw good too, onion rings homemade. Closed Mon and Tues, open other days 1100 until sold out.
George's Ribs are on par with other local ribs but they have a greater selection,if side dishes and some are awesome. The cabbage is killer! Their sandwiches are a little dry, with way too much bun (oversized and dry). I would have rated 3 stars, but the sides and the friendly, smiling (cute) service brought it up to 4!
