Came here for lunch Saturday—had reservations so we were seated right away, by the kitchen. The restaurant is pretty nice inside. Food was good—$49.50 per person for unlimited steak and salad bar! Complimentary sides are given to the table as well (bread, mashed potato, plantains)....Service was a bit slow, and the meats took a while to come out each round. However, the staff were all pretty friendly and helpful. I thought desserts would be included in the experience but it was not—we had to pay extra for the Chocolate Molten Cake ($12) and Grilled Pineapple. The chocolate cake was good but since it is a warm cake, the ice cream melted too fast. Cocktails were great—I enjoyed the Cucumber Mint Smash ($10), quite refreshing and tasty!More

We went for a family meal in February. Two of our party don’t eat steak so they were waiting on pork, chicken and lamb being served. After about 20 minutes someone brought pork to our table. Had to keep asking for chicken and lamb and...after the third time of asking someone finally brought some out. However… a server brought glasses containing salad and 6 king prawns and the two of our party, who don’t eat steak, had those. Then another server came with rum shots and three of our party had those. When the bill came we had been charged $27 each for the two prawn salads and $14 each for the rum shots. We were not told these were extras so Beware of “extras” being offered at your table.More

If you like noise at deafening levels, 40 minute long waits WITH a reservation and mediocre food dressed up on a plate please go to Fogo de Chao. This was an extremely disappointing experience at an extremely high price for what we got. Yes, I...am particular, but that aside, it was a total waste of time and money!More

We arrived 10 min early of our reservation time and were seated 45 min later. Restaurant understandably packed due to the holiday season. We were seated approx 20 feet from the host/hostess desk. For the majority of our dinner, we had people who were awaiting...tables standing immediately next to us while we were eating. On multiple occasions peoples backsides were bumping into the table and our chairs. We were not the only table to have this issue. We saw 2 people at the table next to us switch seats after one guests wife was bumped in to by someone’s rear side. The tables could not have been closer and the waiting area for this volume was way too small. This was NOT a meal that we want to remember. The wait staff was attentive and kind, with the exception of never delivering the cocktails we ordered. One of the waitress’ went to check on them, but we never saw her again. ***The gentlemen who served the meat/poultry were fantastic and extremely attentive, as were those who filled our water glasses.*** We have been to other Fogo locations and had MUCH better experiences.More

I hesitate to post this review because it's so comprehensively harsh but: all of the food at this location was terrible. I'm not joking. First was the cheesebread, which tasted like charred toast. Then came the meat, which was generally overdone and tasteless. We kept...asking for rare, but the few things they gave that were actually pink were also dry. Imagine your average roadside diner's Salisbury steak shaved onto your plate again and again. It's not inedible or bad, per se, but it's not what you go to Fogo for. Then we got the sides of mashed potatoes, fried polenta and bandanas... The bananas tasted off and the polenta was as dry as the Sahara, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for an hour. The prime rib and the chicken were the only exceptions to the rule of tasteless and dry. But the only thing that actually tasted on par was the honey cheese. I've been to other Fogo locations. They were divine. Nothing like this at all. I have no clue what on earth is going on in that kitchen to produce this radioactive culinary dumpster fire. To cap off our crappy night - our servers, who had been very eager to take our orders, promptly disappeared and did not ask us the entire meal whether we enjoyed it. It took one of the busers to notice our sourpusses and talk to a manager on our behalf. When the server did arrive with our check, he kept trying to get us to take a comped dessert. I understand that "all the food was terrible" is a difficult criticism to respond to, but he was unnecessarily condescending... Especially to my date (I was holding the check). I ate plenty trying to enjoy myself so I understand not comping me - and I made clear that I didn't want one. But my date was in tears because she'd only had a few bites and just wanted to get out of there. In that situation... It really would have been helpful if the guy had been a LITTLE sensitive towards her even if he wasn't going to cut us a break.More

For my birthday, some friends took me here for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised. We ate from the buffet and I was impressed with the variety of salads, fruits, vegetables, some meat. Their attention to allergies was thorough and I felt comfortable as I...have an allergy to soybean oil. I was given a laminated, two page allergy list of the items on the buffet bar and menu so I could see for myself what was safe for me to eat. Only one caution: When one of the staff walking by the buffet bar told me soybean/vegetable oil wasn't used on anything on the bar and I mentioned the hummus, he quickly amended what he told me. There is soup also, although it wasn't labeled and there wasn't any ingredient information. The SHINING element for me was the staff presence. If you've ever seen the movie Hello Dolly with Barbra Streisand, the scene at the Harmonia Gardens restaurant is what popped into my head as I watched the staff mingle around the guests, doing what needed doing. My experience was the closest I've ever experienced to that kind of customer service in a large-room restaurant, minus the singing, dancing and acrobatics, of course. While everyone was very kind and helpful, the standout for me was FRANCHESCO. If you visit, I recommend you request him. He will take good care of you!More

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the FOGO de CHAO in North Bethesda. The restaurant was very clean and beautifully decorated. The restaurant was filled with diners of all ages .( families, couples and single diners) FOGO never disappoints. The food was...amazing. The tender meats served by the gaucho’s was mouth watering. I still think of my luscious meal. The Market Table offers everything item that you could possibly desire. They offer their version of lemonade ( limeade ) that my husband absolutely loves. Parking is easy because they have many nice parking lots very close by. You may want to make reservations because it is a very popular restaurant. My only advice is to be hungry because the selection is unbelievable. Rarely do I get dessert, however when I do it is simply ravishing. Mr. Moises is the General Manager runs the restaurant smoothly serving the best food with the top servers. I can’t wait to go back.More

My husband and I have visited this location several times and generally have had good experiences. I made a reservation recently for my husband’s birthday and we were excited to go. I also recently had a baby and this was going to be our first...experience dining out as a family. I called to inquired if I could bring a stroller and could be accommodated somewhere where the stroller wouldn’t get in the way of the servers walking around. I was assured it was not a problem. I also made this note in the reservation. Therefore you can understand how disappointed I was when we got our reservation and was told I would not be able to bring my stroller and was asked to take my son out to put in a baby chair. He is only 3 months old therefore is not old enough to sit in the chair. We ultimately left extremely disappointed and hungry. Thankfully we were able to find another restaurant close by to celebrate his birthday and have dinner as a family. We will not be visiting this location again.More

After visiting the DC location in the past and having an amazing experience there, I decided that Fogo De Chao in Bethesda would be where I wanted to have my 40th Birthday Dinner…. HUGE mistake! I reserved for a party of 17 people, and I...had to sign a contract prior to ensure that the payment would be accounted for all 17 people (14 guests showed). Totally understandable. We spent roughly $2,000.00 for our food and drinks. Our reservation was for 6:30pm and several of our guests were there on time. As they were seated, my sister was told by the waiter that they were going to need the table back by 8:30pm. What a way to welcome your guests…especially for such a big party! The restaurant was extremely busy, and parking was horrendous! Just to find parking was taking some of our guests about 20-30mins…. but the restaurant staff obviously did not take any of that into consideration. I arrived at 7pm and before I could make my rounds to greet my guests or even order a drink, I was also approached by the waiter, and he stated that they will need the table back by 8:30pm as well. We were 30mins into the reservation already and none of our guests had drinks or food yet. I asked if our guests could start getting their meals and drinks, and at that time the dining process was explained. The waiter also brought back my contract in front of everyone so he could reiterate that we had to leave by 8:30pm…so UNPROFESSIONAL! I asked to speak with the manager so that we could have a better understanding of the timeframe situation, and I was approached by Edili. Edili stated that we would be able to stay after 8:30pm but there will be no more servers sent to our table at that time. Also, she stated that she would not be able to promise that they would not need the table at 8:30pm for other guests. Mind you the time now is about 7:20-25, and we are just getting started with our so called “dining experience”. At 8:30pm Edili delivers our food receipt to the table. No gratuity was added to the total even though that was outlined in the “contract”. The waiter then came over to explain that I needed to add gratuity and that at least 18% was mandatory. We were still eating, drinking, and enjoying each other’s company…and I had to stop during my special dinner to figure out why the final bill didn’t just include everything that was outlined in the contract. Edili then came back over to the table and asked why there was an issue with the gratuity. I explained to her that there was not an issue, I just didn’t understand why the amount didn’t already reflect what was signed off on. She stated that she was “doing me a favor” for not adding the gratuity, and that she will go get a revised receipt. When she back to the table she tossed the new receipt on the table and said “Here!” LOL!!! We are spending over $1,000.00 at this place and this is how we are being treated!!! I was at a loss of words at this point. However, my guests were extremely upset and displeased at the way this entire ordeal was being handled and started to voice their opinions to Edili. At one point I saw Edili going back in forth arguing with one of my guests. I could not believe what was happening and was so humiliated! I gave them one credit card for the food, one credit card for the gratuity, and each of my guests paid for their drinks individually. Once the final receipts came back for me to sign, as I was saying my goodbyes to my guests, Edili approached me and stated that they need the table back for other guests. $2,000.00 spent and we were being rushed out! As we were leaving there was absolutely no one waiting to be seated. I took photos of the empty waiting area. I am absolutely appalled and furious at the way I was treated on such a special occasion. This experience totally ruined my 40th Birthday and the rest of my evening! The unprofessionalism and overwhelming chaos at this location needs to be addressed. Guests spend way too much money to be treated like you are at a fast-food restaurant.More

The cooked meat comes out slowly, but hot when they do. We had to ask them to bring out the lamb and the lamb chops were the best of the lot. The bread rolls were also delicious.
