Though the food was good the service was only fair. We were there for a family dinner and there were a number of items that should have been included but were forgotten. Then they basically told our host she did not ask for the items. When she produced the documentation they said nothing. Not even an apology. Because the food... More

This place is way too large for its current business. However, you may get a guest appearance by the owner. His ego will fill up the remainder.

The location is wonderful. The old building is nicely restored with a lovely dining room, wood burning fireplaces and beautiful kitchen. The food has been good at times, but the service inexperienced and sorely lacking. Owner lurking about and clearly the employees are terrified of him. Skilled chefs have come and gone, none will stay. A travesty really. 20 years... More

EMPTY at 6:30 on a Saturday.. Says it all! It's too bad this place is so poorly managed/owned. Such a great spot, with amazing charm.. So much potential, but that's it! Service=awkward Food=horrible Wine list=pathetic We've been here before & each time hope for a different outcome, but it just doesn't happen. Whatever the manager/owner is doing isn't working. We... We went to this restaurant because we had been to other Red Lions which were exceptional. Alas, not this restaurant. Overpriced. I wanted lobster bisque which was on the menu. They didn't have any. We ordered iced tea which the genius chef thought that meant that you put a tea bag into a glass of ice water. No, that leads... More

We ate here (we wanted to dine, but it wasn't like that) on Friday evening, August 23, 2013. We expected it to be elegant and atmospheric with exceptional food but expensive. The evening was a special event for us, as we were going to the local Music Tent to see Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons afterwards. I had both... More

Rookie waiter did not have simple answers to menu questions. All meals arrived very late albeit we ordered from the fixed price menu so we could dine in time for a SSMC show. Haddock entree was the worst. The fish was spoiled and had to be returned. The pasta with clams was overloaded with garlic and salt. The flatbread was... More

Read my review of the Red Lion Inn. I thought that was the name of the BAR, too! Sit at the bar for the dinner special and order the steak fritte and haddock entrees with a house Pinot Noir. Excellent

Was fortunate to have an enjoyable evening with a party 10. It was my second time there and I wish this restaurant was in New Jersey. Cozy atmosphere, excellent food all set on a beautiful property. Make sure you check out the rear room where the rear wall is built around a huge boulder. Rashid the chef is very congenial.... More

Went with a friend for a late-night bite last week. We really enjoyed the cream of spinach soup and salad. The presentation on farmhouse-inspired planks was attractive and inventive. Our waitress was attentive without being intrusive. The chef greeted us and was hospitable. We're going back tonight!
