The best clam chowder I've had. Nothing fancy about this the restaurant , but the food was great. The lobster roll was full of meat. Delicious

I've tried many places, but never tasted a lobster roll so good. Just a warning, on summer the line is very long. Be aware and plan ahead! The rest of the year is OK. Definetly a must if you are around here!!!

I've eaten here at least twice a year for over a decade. It's a fun experience. We bring guests there for dinner after a day on the water. The fried food is moist inside, crunchy out, and fresh. It is however very expensive. For us, its never really been about the food. Its more about the experience. But don't get... More

I was travelling with my dad and his girlfriend in the area. My dad picked up on this restaurant in travel book. I'm not big on eating seafood but this is place to go for fried clams. The fries and onion rings that go with the plate just melt in your mouth. I had the calm chowder which was also... More

Dear Lindsey, Thank you for your kind words. So glad everything was good for you... makes us all happy! Appreciate you taking the time to tell us - especially in February it can be cold and lonely out here in Essex!! Though we did have some wonderful Spring weather for a week. Hope you visit again. I've had an Essex/Ipswich fried clam craving for weeks and finally found the time to drive there to fulfill my craving. It's over an hour from our home. So you need several hours on any given day to thoroughly enjoy the experience and not feel rushed. My wife joined me in the caloric craved lunch at Woodman's. We both love... More

My husband and I tried Woodmans yesterday for a late lunch. We had the fried clams, popcorn shrimp platter, sweet potato fries, onion rings and regular fries. Honestly, if you closed your eyes you could not tell what you were eating. All tasted the same. Just a greasy fried taste, with old oil I might add. I am from RI,... More

The picture says it all; if you are fom new england you know that we don;t boil lobster with the rubber bands on! This palce claims to have invented the fried clam but that is debatable. The food here is greasy and just generally poor. They do make a good clam chowder. Foe the areas best fried seafood try Farnhams,... More
