The Gloucester House restaurant is renowned for its local lobster dishes and for the freshest North Atlantic seafood, prepared to perfection. Having been among the first to popularize fried calamari, our specialties range from award-winning clam chowder to homemade bread and cornbread, from Dottie's bourbon cake to Lily's wine list, and from Sambuca mussels to blackened haddock tacos to a fried fisherman's reuben sandwich. We always cook to order and have gluten free and vegetarian menus available, as well as children's meals. Dine full-service on our outdoor, dockside deck or eat lobsters in-the-rough on our harbor side wharf. Located on historic Seven Seas Wharf, there's something for everyone…

We stopped here for lunch and sat at the bar. My partner had the Chicken Wing app and I the New England Clam Chowder and Clams Casino-a special that day. We were offered fresh cornbread which was moist and set the tone for our lunch....More
We ate at the Gloucester House twice during our recent trip to Cape Ann. The staff was very accommodating and the menu offered a variety of options. The atmosphere was quiet allowing for conservation without having to raise your voice to be heard.
The decor and the prices suggested an above-average dining experience, but the food did not deliver. The Oysters Rockefeller were terrible - almost inedible - and the lobster pie was certainly not worth its price. To her credit, the waitress removed the oysters from the...More
I enjoyed my lobster roll and the view of the water and boats from my seat at the Gloucester house restaurant. I went there because it was recommended by AAA. The service was very good but there was a leak from the A/C dripping onto...More
Classic fishing/coastal town restaurant serving a variety of seafood caught in local waters. We had several people in our party who ordered various items from the menu, everybody agreeing that the food was quite good; the prices were quite reasonable (a lunch menu was available),...More
Great seafood, great staff, great experience!!! Our server Emily was positively delightful and adorable and gave great recommendations for us! My brother Kory is so so picky and she helped him pick out a dish that he loved: the beef tips (a tip to get...More
WAY Overpriced and marginal food. Never heard of a place that serves steamers and does NOT have bread. Cornbread yes, but no white bad for you bread. Lobster pie was a the skimpiest I’ve ever seen and priced at $35.00 and again, only marginal. Steamers...More
There was a little more than an hour before our whale watch trip. We decided to have lunch at the Gloucester House. We were not disappointed!! The food was great as was our server. She was very pleasant and very much attentive!!

Hi there, Apologies for the delay. This is our first Trip Advisor inquiry. Have you, per chance, already spoken with a member of our function staff or are your questions still unanswered? Typically, the most efficient means to answering questions is via telephone. We can be reached at 978-283-1812. Dottie or Sandra can help you coordinate a small event for 20 people in August provided we have room availability. Yes, we have a gluten free menu. Regards, Lily
