Excellent sushi spot on Railroad Street with great menu and friendly owner-chef. Ordered festive roe sushi, miso and dumplings. Highly recommended. Lovely decor. If I lived locally I'd be a regular.

Was really looking forward to some good sushi and was very underwhelmed. Perhaps the rolls and other items may have been better.

Dear Sal.Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your experience at Bizen. As the owner, I would just like to say the"Okay I guess" as a reaction to Bizen Sushi is simply 'Not Okay'. Not that I would question your opinion or undervalue your personal experience but from the point of view of my restaurant it... More

We've been going here since the late 1990s soon after they first opened, and always stop in at least once a year now that we've moved out of State. Michael, the owner, artist, and head chef is great and ensures quality is maintained throughout your experience. Delicious food, raw or cooked, is the norm, and the Hijiki Salad is a... More

Quite possibly the best sushi we have ever eaten. Great rolls. Wonderful warm hot sake on a rainy night and attentive device. A must when you are in this area.

We've dined here many times and the food is always excellent including items from the raw bar, sushi and entrees. Our favorite dish is the Chilean Sea Bass with maple syrup. The only issue we consistently have is dealing with wait staff. On our last visit the waiter was (or seemed) annoyed with questions about the menu. We are easy... More

Bizen is absolutely incredible, it is unlike any sushi restaurant I have ever been to before and still remains my favorite year after year.

There are other sushi places in town, they're ok, but Bizen is amazing. To me it's a spiritual experience to eat there. You could be having fine day, and the food from Bizen will elevate you to the next harmonic level of enlightenment.

By far the very best sushi in the Berkshires. Can get crowded, with the seating tight, but that is a testament to how good the food is. The staff could be a bit friendlier, but overall they do a good job.

Bizen has a wide variety of sushi and sashimi choices, along with an extensive sake and other beverages list. All of our dishes were well-prepared and very nicely-presented. Most of the tableware was made by the owner in his traditional wood-fired kiln. This restaurant can get very crowded at dinnertime, resulting in a line to get in (even when having... More

I LOVE the sushi here, and I strongly recommend going omakase, letting the chef choose. The owner takes the art of sushi quite seriously. Lots of non-sushi options as well. If you have celiac and must eat gluten free, this place is a haven. I had the tempura on my last visit because it was there, and it was fabulous.
