Boy, we really wanted to like this place; I'd love to give it a 4, but there were just some problems that were serious to us. It has so many things going for it: great location, nice ambience and decor, local chef makes good, etc. Yes, we waited a while before we got our waiter, but he apologized for the... More

A fine dining experience indeed. Fresh vegetables grown locally add a nice touch. Chicken delicious. Scallops cooked just right!

Bread is the beginning of amazing culinary adventure. Warm soft French or rosemary bread. You will want the entire basket but restrain yourself for the appetizers etc. artichokes in light batter and carrot ginger soup with spiral wonton chips. Main was scallops in spicy sauce with sweet squash and bouillabaisse with fresh fish in light red broth. Dessert was cherry... More

Let me start by saying that I've been around the world, to a lot of restaurants, some of the top of the top and Cafe Adam stand in my top 3 ever. So yes it is my favorite by far in the Berkshires. I went for dinner over there and it blew my mind away. The tuna tartare is outstanding,... More

But, I like it and Marilyn was less enthusiastic. I had chicken breast that was nicely done over sauteed spinich and polenta, surrounded by small potatoes of every color and 6 different varieties of tomato. Excellent. But they were busy and the service lagged a little.

The small plates are good but the large plates are fairly expensive and we haven't ordered enough to rate them. The food sounds better on the menu than it tastes. The mussels had an interesting Thai style broth but the mussels themselves were very small and old looking. The ice cream sundae had very little ice cream and some sort... More

Some good items but really..I feel, go with your strength, whatever that is....no reason to go outside what is available locally....ie.lobster? Certain fish..better to offer more locally possible,dishes..no need to pretend this is so,etching other than it is..

Cafe Adam has become my favorite restaurant in Great Barrington and its area. The menu is varied, and every option is super! The staff is extraordinarily lovely- always welcoming, remembering those that have only come in once before. For a solo option, the bar is perfect. The wine selection is delicious. I could go on and on... Love it!

Cafe Adam is the perfect upscale restaurant. Service, ambiance and food are outstanding. We loved that there's a parking lot. There were many people there who were constant customers. Make sure to get a reservation!
