We had two excellent dinners at Alta and every dish my wife and I had was simply outstanding. The pork cheeks entree was one of the most delicious dishes I have had in quite a while. The waitresses we had knew the menu inside out...More

It's a small place, so do consider reservations (especially in the colder months), but the food is excellent. We went with four and we were all happy. While they seem to be listed some places as French, the menu struck us as more classic American....More

Alta is a terrific small, quaint restaurant with outstanding food from start to finish, warm friendly service, and a lovely atmosphere. Their signature dish, Braised Duck breast over creamy mashed potatoes and haricot vert was sublime. Molten lava cake dessert was excellent.

With a little trepidation (as we love Chez Nous in Lee so much) we decided to try the highly rated Alta in Lenox. The atmosphere is welcoming with an elegant local crowd apparently enjoying their meals. We were waited on quickly and pleasantly. Fresh, hot...More

I was shocked. This is the first time I've been served a piping hot loaf of really delicious gluten free bread. Not a reheated GF frozen roll. Real bread. They don't make it there. It comes from Guido's down the street but hats off to...More

Had a very nice meal during a girls getaway. Beef tenderloin and scallops were cooked perfect and cod croquet was delicious. Waitress was very attentive and pleasant.

Reasonably priced....the menu was diverse and went from vegan to duck. Dinner was fantastic, desert was as well. They had wine suggestions paired with entrees making ordering a breeze. Our server was knowledgeable. Space is small, definitely requires reservations

We stop in at Alta for a nice meal often. It is our favorite place to go when the chef is tired and needs to treat herself to a relaxing well prepared meal. The wines are poured at the table by the glass - ask...More

They have a separate room often used for larger (5 or more) groups, but it is not private. There will be others seated there as well. It is used as a private space for larger groups, as many as 20.
