Terrific location, right on the water, with an event venue right over the sand. Popular for weddings nearly every weekend, so usually when we want to stop for a drink, it's closed for a "special event". The special event might be when there's NOT a wedding party, ceremony or dinner going on and we can actually get into the very... More

One of the highlights of my visit to New England in the fall is to enjoy 'Lobstah'. I have had many to choose from but the lobster rolls at the Popponesset Inn Raw Bar were the largest I have ever had. They were served in their own roll and included only an extremely large portion of lobster meat with nothing... More

Darioush Wine Pairing at The Poppy was over the top. The restaurant paired this Napa Winery wines with an excellent menu. The Cab. Franc & Grilled Veal Chop wad over the Top, & honestly a surprise from the Poppy's somewhat stayed menu. The thoughtfully prepared menu complimented the winery's varieties in an expert manner. Kudo's to Matt Gelly & his... More

We went here for dinner as the place has a nice atmosphere and view. My friends had the scallops and said they were delicious. I had the filet of sole francais and the egg coating was too thick .... it drowned out the flavor of the fish. If it had been prepared correctly it would have been delicious I'm sure.... More

The Poppy used to one of the best restaurants on the upper cape but it has slipped considerably of the past years. The menu hasn't changed in years. You cannot get a good steak, just a decent lobster roll. But it still has the best view on the upper cape. During the summer you will need a reservation as it... More

The Inn is gorgeous and right on the water. Good choices for lots of different seafood. I had a nice swordfish. I expected an old Inn to be populated by stuffy waiters, but ours was fantastic! Very dry sense of humor, but super accommodating with a picky 10 year old and three giggly ladies.

This place is an icon for summer people and a great meeting place for your pals and friends. Food is just OK for the price. Atmosphere is really fun and beautiful ocean views. Best things on menu: scollop shooters and clam chowder. Also mussels if they have any left.

Very nice but very young staff. The view is the draw here. The food is ok, but lacks any real style. The clam chowder seemed like it came from a bag. The Fish and chips dinner plate ($18) was large but lacked any real flavor. The burger was not so good. Over cooked and lack any real flavor. Drinks were... More

We visited the Popponesset Inn restaurant for dinner with our family. This was the second year in a row that we visited here on the cape. Most of the family, including my wife, had the blackened striped bass. It was absolutely fantastic. You have to ask for it when it's on special, since it is not on the menu. I... More

The spectacular setting of this place is the selling point. Though it is a little pricey, if you want a view, it's worth it. The lobster roll and scrod were excellent. Service was good.
