Four of us had an excellent seafood dinner, Our server, Chanel B was excellent. Great personality and certainly an asset to Legal Sea Foods. Chanel helped make this birthday celebration very special.

My wife and I had lunch here on a Friday afternoon. We had been to legal seafood many, many times and we're not disappointed. I started with the clam chowder. It is one of the thicker chowders out there and had a nice clear clam flavor. My main course was a seafood casserole. It had pieces of white fish, shrimp,... More

Long time visitor. We usually eat at the bar. Two TV's, and a bar staff that remembers your favorite libation and name. The sea food preparation is unparalleled. The professionalism is appreciated. You will smile as you taste the food. We have many seafood restaurant choices in the Metro Boston area. This is my (our) favorite. 'Nuff said. TJ

The good: Warm rolls, lots of side choices with sandwiches. Service. Lots of booths. The bad: Fish chowder had tiny pieces of fish and few potatoes and is too thick ( flour? ). The pear salad was just lots of frisée. Too much of nothing. Not many pears. The ugly: seeing the cook make balls of rice to plate wearing... More

I should preface this review by saying that I usually sit at the bar here. The service and food are always good. You can't go wrong with the lobster bisque and a good class of wine. It's a nice spot to meet friends or sit alone. Often folks will say Hi.

Like meatloaf, mac and cheese, turkey pot pie and thick and meaty pea soup, the fish chowder at Legal Seafoods provides the comfort that warms the innards of many a New Englander looking to ward off another winter storm. The clam chowder may have been served at the White House repeatedly, but a bowl of the fish chowder, with its... More

Nobody does a better job with fish than Legal Seafood. We go there at least monthly for lunch and dinner and are never disappointed. There is always room for us, conversation is easy, the wait staff are pros, and the price is right. Highly recommended.

It was a good surprise to find out that clam chowder was $1 per cup while we were celebrating daughter's birthday there. Besides the usual delicious seafood lunch, we all added a cup of chowder which made us happy.

Legal is our go-to when we want sea food and we don't feel like trying something new. They have a good variety and aren't overly expensive. They make an excellent lobster roll.

Description
The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish. One of our first restaurants and still a popular lure, we are located on Route 9 in the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center. We are still keeping things fresh at our bar, our open dining room and in our take-out counter and Fish Market. Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there’s no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker. We’ve received a boatload of accolades including “Most Popular Boston Restaurant” (Zagat, 2012/2013), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Improper Bostonian, 2010), “Best Chowder” (Boston Magazine, 2010), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Boston Phoenix, 2009) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.
