Lynn and I and our friends stoped for lunch at the Shanty Rose near Plymouth Rock near the waterfront. The atmosphere is..well, a shanty! Wood floors, not much atmosphere, small bar. But, the food was wonderful. Lynn and I each had a cup of the best clam chowder that we had on this trip. It had a nice consistency and... More

I stopped here for a drink after work and it was within walking distance of the hotel. Draft beer was cold and the atmosphere was great especially when the singing began.

This place was so very clean and cute when we walked in. The workers were busy cleaning everything up. We had the lobster roll for dinner which was very good. Its a fairly small bar on the waterfront, but very comfortable.

We visited this place first as a family. Great service, very funny and personable waitress and great food. Very modest building right on the town wharf. Very full of character. Live music several days/nights a week.Have visited several times with my husband and sister. Food consistently good, always a friendly mixed age crowd. My fav!

We had selected another place along the waterfront but they were hosting a private party. The person we talked to at our original stop recommended The Shanty Rose when we asked for a recommendation. Upon arrival I encounter another customer sitting on a stool almost in the doorway when I opened the door. She was surprised at our entrance even... More

Great spot. Locals come in after work, shoot the breeze and have a couple. Nice bartender, Jen. Also met Jimmy here , who is a manager at Surfside Smokehouse. This became our early evening happy hour place. Nice folks.

This was a long shot. Walking on the wharf and decided to stop in for a beer. Had my reservations upon walking into this small, noise, crowded bar with some of the clientele appearing to have just stepped off of a fishing boat. Ordered beers and stood near the bar and television and proceeded to have a wonderful time. The... More

Small and quiet. The food and service were great and the restaurant is within walking distance of all the Plymouth harbor sights and attractions.

The Shanty Rose is in a great downtown location. The local dart teams play here as a part of their circuit. My colleagues and I enjoyed a fun night out on the town. Good Jell-O shots!
