Of course I had chowder and lobster, though the menu does have plenty of other choices. Since I'm clumsy, I went for the "lazy lobster," so I wouldn't have to do the picking myself. Very simple--lobster meat and butter--very fresh, and very good. Chowder was good, but not my favorite--a little short on clams--but chowderheads all have their different preferences.... More

Do yourself a favour and walk in here and try the chowder. Hot and fresh. Take it out to the back deck and enjoy your chowder with a nice view. We love chowder and this is up there with the best. The staff are very friendly, the service is quick, the portions generous and the price good. We want Moore.

We visit Rockport at least once a year, and chowder and lobster rolls from Roy Moore are a must! You'll be hard pressed to find fresher seafood anywhere. Yum! Also, the staff at Roy Moore is always friendly and the service is speedy. Their back deck provides a great place enjoy the awesome seafood.

Went in a few times just to chat with the owners. Let me hold a live lobster for a photo opp. Had a bowl of clam chowder which was amazing! Once while we were chatting, the owner said, "just a minute, I have a customer," he then grabbed a hunk of salmon and gave it to a very large dog... More

Hurry if you want to messily to eat these at Roy Moore's before they close October 31 for the season. We are mad for this place. Ate here twice this week. Forget the bready fish cakes. Go straight for the lobsters. Steaming them in sea water truly makes you feel you're eating the sea. Weird, but true. They cook gently,... More

Its been said in other posts. The chowder rocks. When in the North East, head up to Rockport, walk down the little shack in the village, get your chowder, sit out the back and enjoy life cause it doesn't get any better!

Don't just go by the name, yes the lobsters are great.....they cook them for you right there and then you can enjoy them out back on picnic tables with a fantastic view of Motif #1......doesn't get any better than that! BUT, you really need to try the clam chowder, the best I've ever tasted (that's according to my 7 year... More

With just one night in Rockport we wanted something good to eat. We chose to go to the Roy Moore restaurant close to the Lobster Co. on Bearskin Neck. Neither of us had lobster but the scallops I had and the clams my husband had were so good! The prices were very low compared to other places we'd eaten over... More

Roy Moore's Lobster is true New England lobster at it's finest! There is nothing better than eating the freshest seafood in fresh air. The people are friendly and provide fantastic service. This is a MUST do if you love seafood, but especially lobster! We loved it so much we went twice.
