After a few days in Rockport, we were ready for a quiet place to eat. This was the place. We sat outside at a picnic table. Fries and fish were fresh. My mom ordered a small shrimp plate and it was heaping with food. I had the lobster roll. We sat and watched the sun set.

Classic Cape Ann seafood fare (fried and boiled) is the heart of this small, rustic eatery. A simple screened-in dining area gives ocean views, or you can eat on picnic tables outside. Naturally, lobsters and lobster rolls are the main attraction here. The pricing is OK...not cheap but but comparable to other tourist restaurants in the area. The only real... More

From the rustic building to a great outdoor seating along the waterfront you do not get anymore authentic than The Lobster Pool in Rockport. It gives you all the New England vibes you can imagine. Plan on sharing a picnic table with strangers and spending a little more extra on seafood but you can't beat the experience! This place has... More

This place is terrible and every year is worse than the year before. Once bitten twice shy; we gave them another change but this time NEVER Again. Food is super expensive and bland. The fries are terrible, the clams are not edible, we left our plates untouched. No one can miss a lobster but get it at Market basket steamed... More

Went there with my family and everyone had the fish and chips, probably the worst I've ever eaten and not a cheap meal ($17.50 for one meal of what was essentially take out). Fish was bland and chips were just not good. We also noted the sewage smell that others have noted but once we moved to a table further... More

Awesome fresh seafood and outstanding views of Ipswich Bay. They have outdoor and indoor seating. The day we went there was a bright and sunny day so we choose to eat outside. My wife and I both got the lobster rolls. All lobster meat and no fillers at all. We split the steamed mussels and onion rings. The mussels were... More

Upon entering I looked at the floor in the kitchen, it was gross the vent hood looked liked it was never cleaned and some of the employees looked very unkemped. The only reason I ordered here is my wife wanted a lobster roll, 2 waters a lobster roll and... More

We are North Shore residents and decided to take a walk around bearskin neck this past week with our kids and get some seafood to cap off our afternoon. Two choices - Woodmans (what I had grown up with since being a kid) and The Lobster Pool ( a find my wife and I discovered back in the late 90's).... More

We have been coming to this area off and on for 15 years. The Lobster Pool was always a fund stop - great food & view and reasonable prices. I understand that there are new owners since Oct 2014. The best that I can say now is that view is still beautiful and there are more tables. I had a... More
