Handsome historic structure houses inviting, upscale menu. Perfect for special occasions. Bar is particularly comfortable and cozy. Although located in a seaside village, fresh seafood choices are only part of a well rounded menu. Many excellent wine choices are available in a wide price range. Our server was very attentive and service was prompt. In summary, a special meal in a... More

We love going to the Barker for special occasions. Go to the dining room for special meals, like when the grandparents come to visit or you have friends visiting from out of town. Otherwise, sit in the tavern -- still a great spot, but less pricey. New England history and feel, and really good food.

After a funeral, about 75 friends and family members had a luncheon at the Barker Tavern. It was a buffet style meal with both Haddock and Chicken Piccata. Also green beans and roasted potatoes, there was plenty and really delicious. If you are looking for a function place with very good food, this is the place. Its old tavern style... More

We were a party of 10 in a private room upstairs celebrating my husband's 60th birthday. The food was fantastic--filet mignon and lobster casserole were to die for. But what really made our day so special was our server Sara. She anticipated our every wish, the service was impeccable--wish I could give her more than five stars. We frequent this... More

We live in the same town as Barker Tavern but had never visited till now. Wow, what a place, would recommend it to anyone wanting a classy place with excellent service and nearby the shore for walking on the beach. Get out of the city and check this place out. A little remote but its worth the drive.

Tucked away in an historic building in Scituate, MA is the Barker Tavern, an establishment which thrives on word of mouth as surely you'd never find it otherwise. As we walked up to the building we were struck by the beauty of this fine, old house which was converted into a restaurant. Thick, beamed ceilings and hand-hewed plank floors are... More

A friend recommended this restaurant but I was not awed. Very small portions for a pretty high price. The food was tasty.

Month after month, year after year, the pub satisfies in every way. The food, drink, staff and guests all come together in a 'Cheers-like ' atmosphere that warms your heart and belly at the same time. If they ever decide to expand the pub space even more of us will show up at five o'clock to claim our place at... More
