Me, my wife and my 2 year old son stopped in here one morning for breakfast. We've heard nothing but good things and always see a line on the weekends. Our breakfast was good. Typical fare but they do have some really good looking specials. Which seem to change often. My only concerns here is definitely not food related. One... More

This is a great little diner tucked away in the neighborhood right on Eton Street near the train station. This has been a mainstay in Birmingham for a long time and its not surprising. You get consistent food and service everytime. The menu offers up soups, sandwiches, salads and homestyle entrees like open face turkey sandwiches with gravy and mashed... More

I had the veggie skillet with avocado and goat cheese and my husband had the breakfast burrito. I had a bite of his and both were amazing!

Open for breakfast & lunch only. They have simple diner food but still offer a few luxury adds on such as feta, avocados and goat cheese. Good omlette, skillet, sandwich and salad options. Nice kids menu. Wait staff is very curtious and service is quick. We were in an out for lunch in 35 minutes!

Had breakfast here and always love the special of eggs, crisp bacon, toast and O'Brien potatoes. It is always the same and very delicious. Great service, good coffee, and great food!

The Whistle Stop, open for breakfast and lunch, has a surprisingly large offering on their menu. Although they no longer had my favorite sandwich called a Denver. I opted for a Maurice salad, made famous by the old JL Hudson department store. Unfortunately, they don't make it the correct way and it turned out to be a bit disappointing. Prices... More

Fast service and great food. The coffee at the Whistle Stop is really good too. They offer a traditional American breakfast and do it very well. The prices are reasonable and you will be happy you stopped in. You will leave happy and satisfied.

This place has been here for years and does not disappoint in the service and the food here. I go for both lunch and breakfast. The soups are homemade and split pea is the best. Lots of carrots and potatoes in the soup. Their hot turkey sandwich is delicious. If you like Maurice salad - it is the best. Try... More

A fun little cafe with a great menu. From eggs to French toast you are going to find your favorite breakfast choice. The potatoes were crispy, just how we like them.

Visiting family in Birmingham, my husband wanted to bring us here as he remembered going for brunch as a small boy 45 years ago. Great food at very good prices, served with a smile. We found the food very good, and the service was attentive but not intrusive. Everything served fresh and hot, and plenty of refills on drinks. I... More
