We reserved a lane for feather bowling before dinner. It was such a treat. Being a bit nervous, we gave up our first half hour to a birthday party of regulars. Once we got our courage (3 drinks), we were hitting that feather each time. Amazing history to the game and venue. Our key player almost got drafted. We ate... More

My boyfriend and I love trying new places when we travel and we tried this bar on Saturday. We loved the atmosphere, very casual, almost a dive, but with European food and beer. Great concept! This place features mussels in different styles. We ordered the special, the thai mussels dinner plus a spinach-mushroom-cheese appetizer. The appetizer was delicious. The mussels... More

This is a really nice part of Detroit, old school. It has friendly staff and good food. Try the mussels and bring a big hunger because the portions are generous. I think you should consider sharing. The bar is old but captures the essence of the bygone era. They have feather bowling and live music. The Belgian former speakeasy in... More

Belgium beers & local craft beers on tap, tons of bottled Belgium beers, Belgium appetizers, Belgium soups, Belgium entrees, PLUS Feather Bowling called Tabollen, in Belgium; it's kind of like Curling played on a dirt, sloped, lane with a feather sticking up out of the dirt at each end a player rolls a wooden, cheese wheel shaped "ball" trying to... We visited for the first time this week and had a pleasant experience and we will surely return again when we feel the urge for some mussels. The restaurant was extremely slow at the early dinner hour time so we were definitely given great service while seated at the bar. I imagine it would've been excellent no matter but worth... More

Cadieux Cafe is a unique icon on Detroit's east side. This was the hangout for the great travel guru, George Pierrot. Mussels are a specialty of the house with 2 true feather bowling lanes.

A group of us returned to the Cadieux for another attempt at feather bowling. We had such a good time on a previous visit that we had to come back. Rest assured that no feathers were hurt in our outing. We did not come close enough to inflict any stress on the feather!!! But the good times did continue again... More

Feather-bowling? Huh? A weird, unheard of, fun sport and this is the place to do it. Don't know how to play? Not an issue at all. The friendly staff will instruct you and get you started on this "sport". (as well, the rules are posted on the wall.) Feather bowling may be a Belgian sport, as this appears to be... More
