Loon's Nest is absolutely the best locally owned restaurant in Northern Michigan. Its so cozy and charming inside and the food is exceptional. Excellent breakfast and lunch options and everything is made to perfections. The handmade breads and pies are delicious. My apple pie was...divine, a light flaky crust with an amazing apple filling. Truly one of the best pies I ever ate in my life. If you're looking for a one of a kind restaurant with homemade cooking and terrific hospitality by the nicest owners you could ever meet, come to Loon's Nest. This restaurant is a gem and it's no wonder it's so busy. Loon's Nest is the ultimate.More
My companion and I were renting a small cabin close by in Fife Lake and stopped in to the Loon's Nest for breakfast before a day of scenic drives and visiting wineries. Our breakfast was delicious, fresh, along with attentive and friendly service. We returned...the following morning for another outstanding breakfast and left with two dozen fresh eggs and cherry walnut bread: simply delicious. We loved this little restaurant.More
We try to have breakfast here as often as possible. Small, log cabin interior with numerous old photos of the town of Fife Lake. Restaurant is just steps away from The Lake. Food is fresh and done perfectly! Keith, a co-owner runs his tail off...taking orders and delivering hot food to the table while keeping up a friendly patter with every customer that comes in. Home baked breads in a variety of unique flavors. Fresh baked goods. We chose to take an apple pie home for afternoon coffee. Real pie crust raised high in the middle because of the amount of apples stuffed inside. It's like being at grandma's house.More
Small place, but excellent quality food. Randomly stopped in for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. The taste and portion size both equally good. Also if you like bread there are about 6 different kinds.
Cranberry walnut French toast, yum! We had the bacon also which was thick and delicious. Very friendly people. Small dining room so get there early to get a seat. They also have homemade pies that are the size of a pot pie .
