4 of us had lunch here after a nice long walk in the lovely surrounding countryside. The welcome was warm and the landlord spent some time chatting to us, there was a lovely log fire and a friendly dog plus a good menu, what more could anyone want?! There was a good choice of lunchtime offerings from sandwiches or jacket... More

This pub satisfies 6 of our 6 steps to pub heaven: It is dog and wheelchair friendly; serves real ale; serves more than 4 'true' vegetarian meals; has a convivial atmosphere and is an integral part of the local community. Dave (the host) is very friendly and made my wife an I feel very welcome. 'True' vegetarian meals are offered... More

Once again we were given a warm welcome from the landlord Mark We enjoyed a sumptuous three course lunch, which was delicious, the roast lamb melted in your mouth and the White chocolate and raspberry cheesecake is to die for. The menu offers lots of choice and there is something for every palate. I would definitely recommend a visit if... More

After living in the area for years we finally visited The Fighting Cocks and what a joy. We were given a warm welcome and having sat down by the open log fire our drinks were bought over to us, one of them a pint of well kept Three Tuns XXX. Having given our order our meal arrived promptly and was... More

The Fighting Cocks is not an obvious pub to pop in to and is not on the beaten path- which is actually one of its many many charms. I cannot remember the last time I went into a pub, received a warmer welcome and felt so at home. The children were happy as they played a game without being told... More

Omg! What can I say. Excellent steak night. Ribeye steak was absolutely gorgeous. We have had several around the area & this is by far the best. Proper home made chips with all the trimmings. One of the best steak I have had. Friendly and very welcoming pub. We will be back Thanks all at the cock 👍
