This is fantastic place to have a date. The food is French with some Southern options available. I had the fried chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and it was great. We also enjoyed some excellent escargot.
This great food comes with a pretty high price....Most of the entrées are 20+ dollars with a few easily crossing over 30. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice dinner in Ludington!More
I had tried to make a reservation at another restaurant only to realize they were closed. Table 14 popped up and we decided to try it.
We are visiting Michigan for the summer from Las Vegas, surely one of the hottest food scenes on the...planet. Table 14 definitely held it's own tonight.
We began with the Lychee Martinee and the Crabby Chips. Both were excellent!!!
My wife opted for the Sweet Tea Duck and I had (on recommend from our server, Kirsten), the Shrimp and Grits. Both were ASTOUNDING!!!!! Duck was done to perfection, shrimp were spot on (served with tails on, as they should be. No need for hands in the dish if you can use a knife and fork!!!). Outrageous meal.
We topped off with the house special dessert for the evening which was Peanut Butter Mousse over a chocolate Ganache. Again, outrageous.
Our new favorite restaurant in Luddington. Still love Jamesport Brewing but this one was a surprise hit. We will be back!!!!
We really enjoyed dining here. The food is really fantastic, well prepared, and a good variety on the menu. And our cocktails were also well-made, and served with a smile. We were in town 4 days and ate here twice! Had to come back! I...highly recommend Table 14.More
First off - we were traveling with our small dog and wanted to bring her with us to dinner. Lots of places said you could bring your dog because they have outdoor patios but since it was October many of the patios were closed. Even...though it’s actually in the 60s and 70s this week while we’re traveling. But this place actually set up the patio on the sidewalk area and it was open. We called & were able to walk in with no reservations - with our small dog. We sat on the patio and they quickly brought out drinks & menus. We both had amazing appetizers and great entrées.
Mine was the escargot in a bread bowl with Madeira sauce and mushrooms. It was amazing! For my entrée I couldn’t resist having the fried chicken pies and waffles with a bourbon syrup. It was also really good. My husband with another route and had an appetizer with arugula, fig sauce and goat cheese on naan bread. And for his artery he had duck which he said was amazing with asparagus and I think sweet potato hash. We both left our plates clean.More
Called before they opened and left a message for a reservation. They called back as soon as they came in. Very responsive. Good thing too - they booked up quickly.
All of the food was first class. We had the crab cakes and she crab...soup as apps - and they were both wonderful. My pork tenderloin was one of the best I’d ever had with good portion size. My wife’s duck was also quite good. Service was excellent- very attentive throughout the evening. A near perfect night.
Reservations are required to get a table at this adorable establishment. We arrived for our slotted time and waited outside until the hostess came for us, according to the social distancing protocols. The hostess was friendly and greeted us professionally at all times, since our...table was right by the front door and she had to refill our drinks a couple of times. The owner refilled us once, as well, which I will address later in this review.
We started with the crab chips, which are a bowl of what appear to be homemade kettle chips drizzled with an excellent creme sauce and sprinkled with small, shredded pieces of crab and nicely julienned scallions. These needed quite a bit more crab on them and we had to ask for an extra side of sauce, which basically made this a $16 bowl of chips with a sprinkling of topping. However, we loved them so much we ate every last one of them - they are delicious.
For dinner, I got chicken & waffles (because I'm still a kid at heart, and who doesn't love waffles for dinner?) and it didn't disappoint. The waffle was light and fluffy, with a nicely flavored honey butter dollop and real maple syrup. The syrup was already on the waffle, and I would have appreciated being able to dispense this myself according to my taste. The chicken was thigh meat and was boneless - a huge plus in my book. The breading was quite hard in some areas but I was able to mostly eat around it so it wasn't a problem.
My partner got shrimp and grits and his review was "mmm, this is really good." :) However, none of the tails had been removed from the shrimp, which meant he had to use his hands and a knife in order to finish disassembling the protein in the dish in order to eat it. In my opinion (others will surely disagree), you should never need to put your hands into a dish to make it edible unless it is specifically finger food.
We both finished our meals and resolutely say this was the best food, by far, that we ate while in Ludington.
Our server, while friendly, seemed to completely forget that we existed. She took our appetizer order and then someone else brought the chips. Fine, but this was the last we saw of her for a while, despite the fact that the entire restaurant had maybe 10 tables in it with multiple servers, and she kept walking past us to go to a bigger table. Our drinks ran dry several times and the hostess noticed and actually refilled them for us. Then another person (owner, or floor manager, perhaps?) came and filled them again. Once we got our dinners, we finished them without anyone stopping at the table to ask if everything was alright. They just came and took the empty dishes and asked how everything was. I waited tables for almost a decade and you always ask if the meal is to their liking, even if it looks like they're devouring it. We sat for a while, too, looking around, waiting for the check.
Bottom line: great food, great atmosphere, need better training or general improvement for servers. We will return, for sure.More
