Living just under an hour from this place and can not say enough good things about it. I tell everyone that they have to go there to eat. Oiy is fantastic, she is one of those people who you will never forget. She, for sure will never forget you. She will most likely also remember what you ate last time... More

If you are looking for good Thai food, this isn't going to be your best bet. The portions are small and cheap and overall, it's just not that good. Keep driving and save your Thai cravings for later.

In the small city of Marquette, options for cuisine are quite limited. There are quite a few restaurants here I will say. However, quality varies tremendously. Whenever a new restaurant plans to be opened, gossip fills the town and people are curious to see what kinds of food will be offered at the new joint. On the other hand, there... More

Adam, Please stop by the Rice Paddy for a refund. What you describe is not the type of food I’m famous for that has kept customers coming back for 30 years. There is no false advertising. I pay more to use large, wild caught shrimp. I sell dozens of egg rolls per hour at peak times and it’s possible you... More

The Rice Paddy is an unassuming take out Thai Restaurant on Presque Isle, just down from the university. The place is run by the hardest working woman in Marquette (Aoy) and her still relatively new assistant (Josh AKA little boy). My go to dishes here, in order: Pad Thai, chopchee, coconut soup, or a Thai salad. Always fantastic, including this... More

We ALWAYS make sure to include Rice Paddy into our plans when visiting Marquette. We lived on this stuff in college and seriously crave it. Aoy does wonders in her kitchen, the food is always fresh and delicious. The prices are so AFFORDABLE! Nothing beats the Rice Paddy!

Aoy the owner is a fireball, sweet and sassy and a great cook!mwe loved the wontons, orange chicken. She is the only one cooking so plan on ordering and then coming back in an hour. Totally worth it!

Addictions to great food are commonplace at this tiny take out! Be prepared to wait... She is mostly by herself and flys around but produces incredible THAI FOOD. HER FAMILY still lives there and she goes, back every year with computers, school uniforms, books and good shipments for children in need. The money is raised through a plastic donation can on... Had rice paddy for the first time since I have been up here for 3 years. Definitely should have gone earlier. Food was absolutely awesome, wait time was long but well worth it. 15$ gets you a ton of great food, almost didn't finish it all. 10/10 would eat there again.

Great for take-out (the restaurant is small and otherwise you'll sit at a bench staring at the wall), especially if you call ahead. The surprisingly authentic-style food is cooked to order, and when she says it will take 45 minutes she means it. But it is worth the wait! And those seeking spice will be rewarded; you just have to... More
