Been going to dispatch for years, it sure has gone down hill. I don't think the interior has changed in 30 years. Food was average at best, salad bar for a Saturday night was huge huge disappointment. Hate to say it but won't return.

Got the lunch special which included the soup & salad bar. Soup can't compare to the Bear Trap. Chicken sandwich was good. Waitress was great! Very sweet young lady.
Went here for a steak special one night and was not disapointed. The salad bar was fresh with a good variety. The soup was homemade. The lighting was a bit dark but that was my only issue.
Good reason they call it the dogpatch. The walls are covered in the comic Dogpatch. The food is great. Breakfast is huge. Won't walk away hungry from this place.
They had an above-average salad bar with many interesting items. Everything looked fresh and appealing. The wall-art is a bit old-school, but fun.
Cozy atmosphere and laid back service. Not so busy on weekdays. Pricey for a small town. Wanted to try whitefish for lunch but its a dinner sized item for $20. The waitress suggested Whitefish sandwich which is decent for $10 but very heavy with fries.
What a fun place to eat. Good menu and decent prices. Very attentive staff. This is where you should have lunch before going on the Pictured Rocks Cruise. Also some fun memorabilia in the restaurant, and clean restrooms.
