So, I know they didn't have the prawns but the mixed platter was good and the sardine pate was excellent. So too the 10h10 wine to accompany them. Needed a good bottle of wine to take away and got excellent service and ended up with...the Chateau Martet 2016. Yum yum !!More
Merci beaucoup pour votre commentaire Au plaisir de vous revoir à blaye
We popped into here just for a nose around and Philippe greeted us so warm that we asked him to recommend depending on what we liked two wines ,he recommended a Chardonnay for my wife from Languedoc Gayda which ske knew and loved it (had...3 glasses 3euro each, very good value) and for me he recommended a local wine ,I agreed and it turned out to be a Malbec one of my favourites,Justin Malbec ,he could have read my mind....very good man.....we then ordered the assiete of Comte cheees and saucisson, lomo etc for 15 Euro ,very nice indeed, charming place, would recommend whole heartedlyMore
The Cave de l‘Estuaire is offering excellent wine, just let them know what you like, they will find the right one. (Or Rhum (with pinapple) or other specialities) Just order some tapas and enjoy the evening with a nice view on the citadelle.
Un grand merci à très bientôt
I'm a wine lover, but I discovered Gin Tonic in Ireland... Once, after a market day I entered in this place... We were warmly welcomed and they have a great variety of Gin :) ! So by use, The Cave de l'Estuaire became my "...gin tonic apéro place" after market days and with some friends we use to go there for afterworks... they also have a good choice of tapas ! You can also find lovely wines and spirits. Valérie, Sébastien and Philippe will provide you good advice whatever you need !More

Yes indeed, 3 Times in less than 24 hours. Most important to our visits was Phillipe our very kind server, we took his recommendations. And Sebastian the owner is very friendly to all. We much enjoyed our Friday evening stop for a wine, The place...is a wine shop so you can select any wine from the shelves to enjoy by the bottle. Later, after our dinner we were walking back to our Inn, the town was sleeping, and we found this the only late night spot still open and lively! Also it was very rare to see in a small place, such a great selection of whiskeys, rums, gins for our after-dinner stop. Saturday afternoon after our stroll through the grounds of the fort and then through the local Saturday market, we were glad to see them again there across the street! We had thought it was a wine shop with little foods - but it’s really great food. We sat a couple of hours for oysters, sardines, and something new “truffle jamon”! (And of course a nice bottle of white as recommended by Phillipe:)More

We were made to feel so welcome as an English couple with some broken French between us, the man who seemed to be in charge was very friendly, more than happy to talk us through the wines, we tried a couple and decided on a...few to drink, we also bought a couple of bottles to take home. Wish we had more time to go back and try some more. Great seating inside and out, there seemed to be tapas on offer too but we didn't try this.More
