You get what you pay for. This restaurant is one of six place to eat within 200 meters. It was a superb experience---top notch kitchen, lovely people--we are going for Easter lunch--if the weather is good and we can eat out doors because they are fully booked inside---no wonder. It is not cheap but it is good value.

Having driven through Martel dozens of times en route to other destinations we felt it time to explore the town. We had earmarked the Petit Moulin as it was top rated on this site .However ,as so many other restaurants at this time of year (Feb) it was closed . We then spotted virtually next door this place and noted... More

Chosen for lunch pretty much at random whilst in Martell. There's a range of three or four set menus plus the Carte. We chose the cheapest set menu, the Gourmand I believe, @ €28. The was a small small but tasy amuse gueule. Both had the Aumoniere starter: a purse made from a crepe with a piece of cooked apple... More

We last visited Martel a couple of years ago and had a trip on the little steam train. We hadn't looked at the village itself which is gorgeous, medieval alleys and huge wooden doors and a spectacular market square. There sits this little restaurant, a gem where they welcomed us and had no difficulty at all with a vegetarian -... More

Found this restaurant almost by chance. Best meal we had in France this year. Several nice little extras. Service excellent and very reasonably priced. If we return to the area, we'll be back!

We stumbled across this town and this restaurant purely by chance. But it is magnificent. In a laneway in the middle of the medieval section of town. Great food, good value in a gorgeous setting for lunch. One of our favourite meals and worth going out of your way for.

This restaurant provided our family with two of the best meals we had during our entire visit to France. We visited Antibes, Monaco, Uzes, Martel, Sarlat and this was by far my favourite spot. The food is all local, service is exceptional and you can tell the chef was trained at the Michelin star level by the cuisine this restaurant... More

You always know the food is good when a restaurant is full of convivial natives. We were surrounded by locals across the age range and the food was excellent with beautiful presentation and attention to detail. The menus are thoughtfully composed and represent good value for money in this foodie town where it can be hard to find a meal... More

This restaurant was absolutely wonderful. Recommended by staff at Chateau de la Treyne, we knew that this must be a good place, and it definitely was. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked, and the menu had a large variety of options. Most of all, the service was excellent and felt very personalized. We had a lot of fun trying to... More
