Gotta LOVE how this uses fresh local products! Great atmosphere - fun & friendly. Great sandwiches, soups and salads. Be sure to grab some Gelato on the way out. A perfect Northern Michigan destination.

The Spoon has a very good reputation for casual food (but the kitchen is closed on Tuesdays). We go primarily for the best gelato this side of Italy. Great place to lunch or snack in downtown Petoskey.

My husband and I stopped at American Spoon Petoskey because of their advertising on NPR. Clerks were very informed, offered samples of any item we requested. Yummy! Our decision was very difficult, but selected a berry compote for breads or toast. How amazing to learn that most items are manufactured in Michigan. We will be back!

Everything on the menu looks so good and creative it is always hard to decide. My last visit, a week ago, was once again delightful. I ordered the cucumber gazpacho soup, which was wonderful, but could have used a little less salt. The waitress said a lot of customers say that........... but it was still really good. Our salad of... More

Friendly service, good coffee, delightful atmosphere and a view of the green, just outside the window. Limited breakfast menu, but the food was good and we enjoyed sampling peach, blueberry, strawberry and cherry jellies on our toast.

We found this shop while exploring the gaslight district and we fell in love! Although we only got to see the shop and not the cafe part, it was already closed, we heard many great things about it. There are so many samples! Their products are exceptional. Everything tastes great and we loved that all ingredients are local. Our family... More

So this is a really nice fun place to eat, kind of half restaurant half cafe. I like that they have a unique menu with interesting food, not typical. Great sandwiches and they even serve dinner during the summer months. When finished dining I grab a gelato, stroll the streets and smile from ear to ear being in northern Michigan!

Great! My wife and I had lunch here and we really enjoyed it. The view out back makes it very charming.

They have a wonderful selection of jams, sauces, salsa and mustard. It is nice that you get to taste everything before you buy, although this tends to make you buy even more since they are simply delicious. The peach preserves , mission fig conserve and whiskey maple syrup are fantastic and if you like savory items the apple and onion... More
