We have the pleasure of living in the UP. One of our all-time favorite places to visit for a Friday night fish fry is Fred's Pub in St. Ignace Michigan. The value of the food there is amazing the portions are huge , staff is very friendly and informative. If you are visiting the area we highly recommend that you... More

Service was great! Food was good! Price was relative to meal. Overall environment makes this place a must eat at! We got to bowl and laugh a lot! What's not to love?

The manager took our order and should have told us we were ordering from an old takeout menu that we got from the restaurant. We came back after she told us when the food will be ready. We argued over the prices and when she relented, she had attitude saying we are taking it out of her pocket. My family... More

We live off TA for most of are travel picks. This one failed us. Clam chowder average. It did have lots of clams in it and it was home made but nothing to write Jane about. I had a taste for fried mushrooms and they were out of a frozen bag. Nothing special. My wife had white fish with mashed... More

Dinner at Fred's was an unexpected dinner. I was late for me to eat and the hotel recommended Fred's. it's off the beaten path but just a few blocks from hotel. Sat at the bar and ordered the whitefish. Came with salad and fries and three pieces of whitefish. It had a very light dry batter and was moist and... More

We went to Fred's last year, based on previous comments from this site, and had a superb meal and great conversation with Fred. We went this past weekend and had another great meal and chatted with "Mrs. Fred," Wanda. The broiled whitefish is the best and the service was excellent. We will always include Fred's on our trips to da... More

Was in St. Ignace for the night on our way up north. The hotel recommended this restaurant to us saying that they had a Friday fish fry. We each ordered the fried whitefish and it was excellent. So fresh and not fishy at all. For a place that served so much fried food, you didn't get that greasy feeling when... More

I have already posted this review with Yelp. I ordered the Great Lakes whitefish for take out. It was delicious. I ordered broiled (most of the menu only offers fried fish). It was delicious. Definitely in the top 10 that I have ever eaten. The only reason I did not give a 5, is Kayla. I was the only customer... More
