I’m writing this review now, because it seems like it may help fill the void in my life that exists because I can’t visit Karl’s while the border is closed. I only have good things to say about this little restaurant. It’s hands down my...favourite place to eat in Sault MI, and I’ve never been dissatisfied. I’ve had many kinda of soup, sandwiches, pasta, salads, desserts, and dinner entrees in the last 10 years or so and I am always blown away at the flavourful and fulfilling foods. The little sides of unique creations are so much fun and new and delicious constantly. The owners and staff are pleasant and attentive, and you can tell they truly care about providing their customers with a great experience. If someone told me today that I could ship an order across the river to me but it would cost me $50, I wouldn’t even bat an eyelash. Stromboli? Yes please!!!!More

We had a rainout on one of our visits to the locks .I know I'm late but the date was 9/19/2020. The rain caused us to seek shelter at Karl's Cuisine and we are glad we did! We rotated among 4 people at our table...with one person staying in my truck to be with our dog most of the time. Our server was Iesha and she did a remarkable job balancing everything. She was a delight as a person and a server. All we ate was two of their giant soft pretzels. They were excellent. Great wine, great beer, great server - what else you want?More

We went for lunch after visiting the locks- WOWOWOW... seriously one of three top walleye dishes ever. The broth is wonderful- the fish cooked perfectly. The roasted tomatoes were very sweet and a nice addition! There were bread cubes on top - a bit too...many but they were delish... we asked for a spoon because we didn’t want to miss a drop Of the broth(!)And all served in a skillet!!! We had a choice of a corn and sausage chowder- sweet corn ONG... just a perfect Cup of soup . The Greek salad was Excellent - homemade dressing and very fresh romaine. A scoop of potato salad on top was a nice surprise... We will return when we can enjoy the wine that others were drinking (happily) ... and I guess it’s made by the owners ?!!! A beautiful venue too. Obviously... we loved it!!!More

I heard this was the place but for the price, not so much. All in all ok, my husband enjoyed his burger, I ordered the crab cakes and they had such a fishy taste, I could only take one bite. I thought the crab was...supposed to be on the sweeter side. The service was great. Price a bit high.More

We dined here 1.5 years ago during the very early spring. It was a great time to visit the area as there were not many tourists and temperatures were comfortable too. My partner consumes a gluten free (GF) diet per choice and we so enjoyed...our meal as they offered a GF baguette, yum 😋. I don’t remember exactly what we ordered other than the spinach dip, however, it was delish enough that we had anticipated returning during this trip too. Thankfully I called prior to arriving as they no longer offer the GF bread. Per the staff on the phone they just removed it from the menu. Kind of sad as GF bread lasts forever in the freezer and you can defrost it at room temp quickly or cut in half grilled with butter/garlic. Due to the pandemic a smaller menu was offered? Unfortunately we chose to pass this time and perhaps try again next year? Maybe they will have the GF bread choice again that was so yummy with the spinach dip? It is always so nice to share a meal with a loved one when you both enjoy EVERYTHING from start to finish, including something as small as a bread basket. Well, for me/us bread and butter lovers, the bread basket is as important as the meal!!😆More

The wine was very good, although a little expensive for the amount poured. The beer was also decent. My husband had the Whitefish Skillet. It had a great flavor but with so much sauce, it was more of a stew than a skillet. My Crab...Cake Naan was also quite tasty. The service was a bit slow. And the hostess seemed as though she was hoping that we would choose not to wait for a table. The did a good job of social distancing the tables and the waitstaff all wore masks the whole time. I'd visit this place again if I find myself back in the Soo.More

The people were great and the food was good. I ordered what they called a Citra IPA. There was no Citra character, in fact, there were no hops or bitterness at all, it was all-malt. Go there for the food. If you are looking for...a good craft beer, no.More
