Great place to grab a sandwich, salad or appetizer and enjoy the local beer and wine. Eat outside if the weather permits, and take a walk around the cafe. Then venture over to the wine tasting area and try some fabulous wines.

Sadly, our visit to the Hearth & Vine Cafe was not what we had hoped it would be, due to what appeared to be quite a lack of staff on the day we visited. My husband and I went for lunch on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, arriving around 12:30. There are only a few tables available outside, and... More

We stopped here right as they were opening up for the day, 12 noon, and enjoyed a flat bread pizza of home-raised chicken on top of a tomato margherita pizza. It was good and the staff was friendly. We considered going for a wine tasting but after checking out the wine list, the offerings seemed a bit pricey so we... More

This is the restaurant at Black Star Farms, so my expectations were pretty high. The service was good but the food just okay. What lets it down is the general décor and ambience. It just isn’t very special, and on the evening we went it was plagued with flies. (I guess that goes with being on a farm, but it’s... More

After we visited the winery across the street we stopped in for a cocktail. Health and Vine's friendly staff made us feel at home. We were told that all liquor's served is locally made i.e. gin. vodka, rum... The specialty drinks are a little expensive but was well worth it.

Black Star Farms is one of the better known, better wineries and better wines in Michigan. At its Sutton Bay location (near Traverse City) lies an informal cafe know for its great flatbread pizzas. Pick anyone, we had three different ones (the white with added tasty sausage, the Margherita and the spring (with asparagus, leeks, mozzarella and pesto). All were... More

We visited Hearth and Vine after a wine tasting at Blackstar. We split the kale Caesar salad, and a fantastic pizza!! Good menu with a lot of variety. We enjoyed the patio!

My wife and I decided to enjoy the last Fish Boil of the 2015 season; great experience and unique flavors going on with both the White Fish and Walleye. Give it a try the next time Hearth and Vine offer it up. We sure enjoyed it.

We have been wanting to try Hearth and Vince for awhile now and finally got to try it while recently staying at Black Star Farms. The restaurant is part of the property, which includes a beautiful Inn (within walking distance) and an excellent winery and tasting room. We started with a bottle of their own wine, the BeDazzled, a dry,... More
