We went to the tavern to hear Cameron Blake play on the porch and included dinner and a beer for our experience. All was great, though I had the bean with ham soup which was homemade and excellent! The concert was wonderful. Blake was so...More

Menu items are numerous and satisfying at very reasonable prices. A great place to go for lunch or dinner. One of my personal favorites in the Traverse City area. When you arrive or before you go...make sure you Smooch the Moose!!

Well, I've usually eaten here as part of a visit for their "On The Porch" music series. Sleders is just a great solid place to go for good bar food entertainment. What a nice intimate venue for listening! Plus, the artists that they book are...More

Very interesting place with a long history. Food was good and priced accordingly. Not expensive and the menu was basic but good overall. My wife "smooched the moose" and purchased a T shirt to tell the world. Got there about 6PM for dinner and had...More

I wanted to eat somewhere that has roots in Traverse. This restaurant is the longest running restaurant in Traverse city, established 1885. Typical pub food, burgers, perch and lots of appetizers. We enjoyed our stop, off to bike along the shore!

Both my husband and I remembered this place from previous visits. Nice selection of beer. Good wet burrito and nachos. I've had better meals but the atmosphere is hard to beat and the food was good. Outside of, though not far from, downtown.

Sleder's Family Tavern, a Traverse City original and Michigan’s oldest, continuously operated restaurant established in 1882, is known for its cozy and casual, family style dining with historic decor, animals galore, and the longest mahogany bar in town stocked with local and international wines, domestic beers, and micro-brews. Football games are mandatory; we have bar specials during Red Wings games; and our ``On the Porch`` Concert Series has been hosting exceptional national and international singer/songwriters for over 20 years. On our lunch and dinner menu, you'll find diverse American foods, 100% beef burgers, and homemade fries. Come enjoy a basket of perch or a buffalo burger with a pint of Sleder’s Cream Ale, and don’t forget to kiss the moose for luck!
