The apple hazelnut salad was divine with a light curry based dressing. The scallops were lightly seated with an amazing light white sauce , walnuts and apples to add a crunch. The walleye a great presentation with raisins and an excellent light sauce. Will definitely return!

I love the tofu scramble and I am NOT a tofu fan! Everything on the menu is good. I've never had a bad meal...Only downside, they'll only seat you when entire part arrives.

If you want a great breakfast in the South Minneapolis neighborhood, Blackbird Cafe is the ticket! Always great eggs; oxtail dish is unusually delicious but my fav is the Colleen OBrien! The only downside is that if a bloodyMary is a must for your weekend brunch, you'll have to modify your taste with a beer Bloody Mary (beer and wine... More

A hip spot on Eat Street in South Minneapolis. We were fortunate to have to wait only a short time for a table on Saturday mid-day. We had heard from a local review that the Swedish pancakes were a signature dish. Two of our party ordered these, and were very pleased with the quality - especially the fruit compote. A... More

The Blackbird Cafe is in our neighborhood (we walked there). We went for weekend brunch. I had the cheesy hash browns with chorizo sausage and two eggs (The Colleen O'Brien). The cheese was not melted and the toast was barely toasted. I think cheesy hash browns should have melted cheese. Service was good, we might go back.

Went here for dinner with a group. The overall decor of the restaurant lacked a theme and the menu echoed it. I ordered the mussels which were a bit bland. Other members of the group stated that their food wasn't memorable either. Overall would not recommend it.

Stopped in on a Saturday around noon and got seated right away. Staff was great, menu was filled full of unique items. Hash was fantastic. Pricing was in line with anybody else. Glad we stopped.

I have been to Blackbird at least a dozen times in the last few years and they have consistently delivered friendly, attentive service with deliciously tasty food in a beautiful, cozy atmosphere. Best part: they have the loveliest little tea set with a cover to keep your tea warm. :-) I highly recommend it.

This restaurant came highly reviewed. I only enjoyed my salad. Disappointments included wine and dinner options. I did not care for the white options (expensive, for small pour, and only one chardonnay by glass). There were no cab options by the glass for one of our guests. Food options also disappointing: quail was so small a portion, overcooked, with very... More

This place has a different menu with items not found in most American cuisines. They use different spices and entries than we are familiar with. The beer selection is limited. The food was very good and the waiter was prompt and friendly. The prices are higher than we expected though. Overall it was a pleasant experience but not sure I would... More
