Fuji Ya is probably my favorite restaurant in Minnesota. All of their food is so good. This is one of the few places where you can get sukiyaki (not served the traditional way, but still amazingly good). If you have never tried sukiyaki, get it!! You'll wanna share it with someone. The sushi is great, of course! Happy Hour is... More

My boyfriend and I visited FUJIYA last night for dinner. I ordered the salmon skin maki, I was a huge fan of it. It was very smokey; and I've decided I don't think I like salmon. But my boyfriend ordered the dragon roll and the California roll, his were VERY good. I recommend the dragon roll, of the 3. My... More

I have been going here for years and I am always impressed. This is my favorite Sushi spot in town. I've had sushi at other spots but this is still my favorite. I recommend going during happy hour because the deals are really good and there is a ton of great Sushi on the happy hour menu. We always start... More

My husband and I visited Fuji Ya for a nice dinner. The calamari is excellent, some of the best I've ever eaten. I had the crunchy maki roll. My husband had a seasonal spicy specialty roll. Both were awesome! Definitely coming back!

Consistently excellent food and service. Sitting at the sushi bar is the best experience. Over the last 10 years have never had a bad experience

Fuji Ya has been around for a very long time...before sushi was the rage. It was located on the river and has moved a couple times since they reopened. I enjoy coming here but prefer the ambiance of the front room with the bar rather than the back open space with little atmosphere and a plain view of the loos.... More

My wife and I visited Fuji ya based on TA reviews and were very happy with our meal. I originally made reservations for 6 expecting traffic to be terrible around this time of year (and during dinner time) but arrived at 10 after 5. No problem! we had choice of seating and we chose the bar. Beer selection was good... More

Went to Fuji Ya for the first time (we are new to Mpls) and had incredible sushi. Loved the tuna sashimi and all of the specialty rolls we had especially the South of the Border. Yum. Yum. Also the service was awesome. Will be returning to try out their happy hour.

We have been going to Fuji Ya for more than 10 years and last night was not what we expected. The first drinks and edamame arrived promptly then we had a 20 minute wait for our shared salad. 20 minutes after that, our (fairly inattentive) waitress came to our table and said that our sushi would be "right up". 15... After inaugurating Minneapolis to Japanese cuisine overlooking the river, Fuji Ya keeps the tradition intact. the raw fish and rolls are superb. And though the service is spotty, the food is worth it.
