This is one of our favorite go-to restaurants. It's relatively small, but their menu allows for an almost endless combination of meals and tastes, ranging from appetizers and entrees, to build-your-own sandwiches and platters. You will order at the counter (bring cash for tips--they take credit cards but don't have a tip line) but the food will be served at... More

Just stopped here on a whim when I was hungry. Had no idea what they had on the menu. When I got inside I saw they had a gyro lunch special for 6 bucks. Gyro, drink, and fries. There was a little wait but not long. The gyro was awesome, best Gyro meat around. Great sauce. It was also a... More

I suppose it is a commonplace to enjoy gyros at a Mediterranean eating establishment, but I am quite confident in my claim that the ones available at Aida are unique are very tasty indeed. I have tried some of their other dishes, all of which were similarly interesting well prepared, but the gyros is a favorite of mine. My friends... More

Aida's food is very authentic egyptian-mediterranean and flavorful! We love getting the Mediterraenean sampler and bringing it home to enjoy. The restaurant is small and everything is made to order so plan ahead. When it gets busy, you can easily wait for 30 minutes so call ahead or plan for the extra time. The wait is worth it though!

I had the chicken Kabobs and they were dry and overcooked with no seasoning.Basmati rice had no flavor. The best thing was the spice jalapeño sauce. Will not go here again. Others in my party had chicken swarma and commented on lack of flavor and how much better it used to be. Once and done. Too bad because this place... More

We have had take out from this restaurant many times. It used to be wonderful, with tasty, fresh food. The last two times, some of the entrees were dried out. The first time we encountered this, the gyros were dry. The last time, the two chicken entrees were dry and hard. The chicken had been overcooked and was too hard... More

This place has amazing people and amazing food. Everything is cooked fresh to order. They also just won a food safety award. If you love Greek food, try this place and you'll be a customer forever.

One of my favorite places in the area to grab something to eat. Reasonably priced, friendly with quick service and great food.

Aida is one of my favorite spots to eat in Minneapolis. Fast friendly service and consistently good food. I highly recommend! Make sure you ask for the punch card for extra savings (if they still offer). Building is cute too.

Food wasn't the only thing on the owners' minds when conceiving Aida. Transforming a scuzzy old Taco Bell into something a little more upscale and making this the neighborhood hangout is also a priority.

Whatever you order, rest assured that your food comes from the heart. All the dishes on the menu are traditional family recipes that owners' family grew up eating themselves.

Named after the classic opera Aida by Giuseppe Verdi, which was first performed in Cairo in 1871, Aida serves Egyptian-Mediterranean cuisine the way Egyptian's consume it - free of bells and whistles, bravado and belly dancing.

Simply, it's Egyptian-Mediterranean fare that you can't get enough of. Be warned, the Mediterranean Sampler will have your mouth watering for days after you dine.

Whether you've come for couple-time or camaraderie, whatever you do, don't skip the baklava. It's big enough to share, and hypnotizing enough to become a lifelong favorite in an instant.
